"Visited The Eagle today for lunch with my mother and a friend. Food arrived and as it was placed in front of me, the first thing I noticed was a long black hair wrapped around a fry (we are all blonde). I notified the waitress who said nothing but promptly took the plate away to the kitchen. A few minutes later my plate was returned and I was informed my fries had been replaced (not the whole meal). My burger had now cooled down quite a bit but as we were short on time, I ate it. Having worked in hospitality, when our bill arrived, as a gesture, I had expected something (my drink, my meal, or a portion of it at least) to be taken off. I understand these things happen, even with precautions in place. To our surprise there was no reduction or even an apology. We made a mention of this and the server took the bill to speak to her colleague. They spoke amongst themselves and returned telling us that since they replaced my fries, they would not be offering anything further (clearly not even an apology). The server proceeded to say had I mentioned the hair at the end of my meal and the fries hadn’t been replaced, then the meal would have been taken off the bill. She remained quite defensive about having replaced it and that’s where it stands so we left it alone. Paid my £16 for a luke warm burger and won’t be back."

"Had a table booked on Saturday 16th July for the evening. We really felt welcome from the moment we got there as the staff couldn't do enough for us. We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and decided to stay here after food for some drinks and worked our way through alot of the cocktail list. Which I must say, were made to a very high standard. Well done to everyone one who made our special night!!!! Thankyou Simon and Teresa."

"All the restaurants in central Norwich were full on a Tuesday evening because of the Eat Out to Help Out campaign. A bit difficult for those of us who were travelling to book a table in advance since we didn 't know what we were doing or where we would be. Having been turned away from 6 different venues, we got fed up and decided to give this place a go, as it was pretty empty. We were greeted by a smiley and energetic assistant, who was pleased to see us. The place is a hybrid of fried chicken joint and a Chinese takeaway. I could read in Chines that they served Taiwanese Chicken Steak . I was intrigued as I didn 't remember eating that on my visits to Taipei. So w ordered that and a chicken curry with rice plus a beef curry with rice. I am rather fond of bubble tea and so ordered one with yam. My husband ordered a juice with the tapioca pearls. The drinks turned out to be the best thing on offer. The yam tea reminds me of the Far East and had the right balance of tea with yam and lots of tapioca pearls. The Taiwanese Chicken Steak was basically a deep fired breaded chicken breast escalope. I was a little greasy but tasty enough. The curries were made from the kind of Chinese curry sauce I can buy in Chinese supermarket. The chicken and the beef in the curry were vile!! They must have used a ton of soda to tenderise the meat, so that it has lost all texture and taste. We left most of the meat and fished out the bits of vegetables and onions and ate them with the rice. So, don 't order the curry and stick with the chicken. You will have a slightly more pleasant experience."

"Really upset with our service at nandos today. Had to wait which is understandable as it was bank holiday however once we sat down and ordered my food came after around 10-15 minutes and my partners food came around 30 mins after mine so by the time his was served mine was cold. There was no cutlery out for people to help themselves for the entire time we were there and we witnessed a member of staff help herself to cutlery whilst there was none out and just walked off with it for her food. I appreciate they have a break and deserve it given their busy circumstances but i had a cold nandos that I spent money on."

"Do not hesitate to order from here! Golden city I have fallen in love with the EXCELLENT quality of cooking and fresh tasty ingredients. The staff are so welcoming, polite and adorable and as a local resident this Chinese is the best for miles upon miles in fact when far away for home this is the food I crave. Great prices, great portion size, and totally scrumptious. Have tried a few different things here and every dish has become a favourite. Thanks."
