"I was twice in the last months in this hotel and what a great sound it was. a cordial greeting is guaranteed and the employees are happy to help them and in the regular their stay to a great experience. the rooms are immaculate and decorated / set up on a high standard. excellent bathroom with hot water and a large shower. great food and service in the dining room. many choices from the menu and generally a great culinary experience. all at a good price. we make the personal and the owners."

"Give the carvery a miss. I was so disappointed too, as a I had been looking forward to it. I couldn't even get my knife through the Roast Beef, there was no mash potatoes left, roast potatoes had ran out. So everyone was waiting, while he served up the plates with meat, and was left waiting and waiting while my plate got cold as he wouldn't keep it warm for me. So warm lukewarm meat and hot pitatoes when they eventually came. The veg was just warm, the stuffing was like rubber, so much so, could hardly scoop it out the pot. We weren't given the extras my friend and I paid for and the guy/cook behind the carvery was very flustered and not helpful. Ater being shown to our seat, we waited 20 minutes, for someone to come back to take our drinks order. Yes we did complain and were given 20% off our bill!! Considering we had paid for £4.50 for extras we didn't get, it wasn't that much, as couldn't eat half my meat and the carvery was horrible. I do have to say, the girl that served us, was great, took the complaint well, and responded well, She was actually lovely and cheery considering. I'd say she deserves a bonus after handling the complaints well, as we also heard the next table complaining too. Go somewhere else for Sunday lunch"

"Surprisingly not out of the door as they usually were, think there was some kind of Coronation shenanigans going on. Had a very nicely made latte and a superb pot of Earl Grey. Homemade pancakes with maple syrup helped to cheer up the foggy day, a roll with hog roast sausages went down well, lovely beetroot salad on the side too. Service excellent from everyone encountered."

"Went to Ythanview for a funeral tea it was absolutely lovely after such a stressful day this was just what we all needed.Friendly helpful staff food was great price was very reasonable. Would highly recommend."

"Met my brother and sister in law for first time in 20 months. They live in Leeds, so had been unable to travel to Scotland. I opted for the Porterhouse as thought would be a nice treat for them. We had a truly fantastic meal....The complimentary entree of cauliflower and celeriac veloute was delicious. Told the waitress this should be on the starter menu, as we wanted more. Our steaks were cooked to perfection, and we all enjoyed our desserts. I had the banana and caramel soufflé, it was lovely and light, and the spiced creme anglaise was the perfect accompaniment. Also big thankyou to the lovely staff. Even though they were wearing masks I knew they were smiling. Will definitely return."
