"Oh my lord, the Indonesian food experience here is just the best in Darwin! Honestly can't fault the food or service at Ayuriz, and if you haven't been, then what are you waiting for?! By far one of my favourite eateries for Indonesian food in...Darwin, and not to forget my favourite from their menu their grilled eggplant "

"Came across this place down a side street in the CBD. Has an extensive menu with the usual yiros/burger/chips meals but i would suggest trying the nepalese fare. Byriyani/ fried fice meals are outstanding. Light, fluffy"

"Where do we start...We booked 2 weeks in advance for that very special day that comes only once a year. Upon booking, we were asked if we would like to be seated at a window. On arrival, we were told to pick any seat that we felt like and all the window seats were taken. Disappointed, we took our seat anyway. The waitress was very quick to ask us if we would like anything to drink to which we requested a wine menu. The waitress bought back a menu and left. Whilst waiting for the waitress to return to take our drink order we notice we can see straight into the dish washing room where we see a slug of a man slopping around cleaning dishes. The sound of the banging plates and glasses drowned out the horrible music. If this wasn't off putting enough, we noticed that this "dish room" ran straight into the kitchen. The food was getting walked from the kitchen, through the "dish room" and straight onto tables. Half an hour later we still had no fluid on our table so we decided to go and order from the bar. At this point, we have heard their sound track for the evening play twice through, with the scratched CD causing songs to jump and skip, bringing the mood to an even lower low. To say the music was less then romantic would be the understatement of the month. We ordered a wine that was on their menu to then be told they would need to go and buy it from the bottlo. 10 minutes later, we finally had a waitress come and take our dinner order. After she wrote our order down we also requested a bottle of water for the table. Another 10 minutes pass and we notice that their is a free table next to the windows so we ask to move, finally some good news! We move tables and are able to enjoy the beautiful sunset, is our night about to turn around!? NO. Another 15 minutes pass and we have a bottle of wine, still no water or entree. Our wine is also left sitting on the table and not in a bucket of ice like every other patron in the restaurant. After waiting another 15 minutes, we went up to the bar and asked for our water again. Only after this was a bucket of ice bought over to the table for the wine, that was already at room temperature. Over an hour has passed since we have been seated and our entree finally arrives, a simple garlic bread. You would think that a SIMPLE garlic bread would be quite simple to make. You would also think wrong. Our garlic bread was soggy, and tasted more like 10 minute old buttered toast. The mains arrived at our table, 10-15 minutes later. Cajun chicken and Moroccan lamb, sounds delicious doesn't it. You can imagine the amazing spice of the Cajun chicken now can't you.. well I couldn’t. It was extremely bland and served with room temperature chips and salad. I would have preferred the salad from McDonalds. If this wasn't bad enough, there was also a small strand of hair in my food. Positive feedback - Moroccan lamb was fantastic, although for the price we paid, portion size was laughable. After we had finished the main, we were offered a desert menu, we declined. We drained the remainder of our wine and went to pay for our meal. A further 10 minutes of our evening was wasted whilst waiting for one other patron to pay for their "romantic" evening meal before we paid $91 for a rotten evening. There were many other couples in the same predicament as us, I can only hope that they all get on here and post a review to ensure that this "upper class" slop trough is put to shame publicly. The only factor that saved this place from getting reviewed as "terrible" was the view.Over 2 hours was spent in this establishment and after we left we went to a fast food restaurant for dessert and received better service and better food in 5 minutes.I know this is a bit of a rant but for our expectations from their pretty pictures on the internet, we were bitterly dissappointed. Thank you for taking the time to read this and we hope it helps you to avoid the same dissappointment. All in all, happy Valentines day!"
