"Once again, I am writing a late review. I should be named Late instead of Lea.
I've never been a Thai food fan, but I feel like my stay in Singapore (yeah I know, NOT THAILAND, but some spots serve authentic Thai food to die for) made me rethink that "not-a-Thai-food-fan" statement. Khuathai, a restaurant so unassuming, nestled in one of the most unassuming places at Festival Mall, seemed to have impressed my best friend who LOVES Thai cuisine (and yeah she has been to Bangkok). We even called the restaurant a "Tita place" because it didn't seem like a place where people our age would hang out. Surprisingly, a twenty-something was there, her eyes glued to her laptop, probably binge watching a TV series.

We had spring rolls, pad thai, a tofu and mushroom dish (Ugh I'm terrible at remembering dishes with complicated names or those with longer than two words) and something with meat and herbs. (Please refer to the photos)

They gave us complimentary iced tea so we didn't order drinks anymore.

I was blown away by the simplicity of the food. Those dishes were not very fancy but they were really good. It's the way I like my food: simple, but packs a punch. I think the reason why they're good is because there was no scrimping on this and that ingredient. No shortcuts, no stinginess. I didn't feel bloated afterwards because the food didn't taste like it was given a bath in the Dead Sea. Unfortunately we didn't order anything spicy (a travesty, really) and we didn't try their tom yum either but I guess that's why I'll return. I am terribly hungry at the moment and might even run to Alabang for my Khuathai fix if it weren't past 11pm."
