"Well, the only down points are: it's a bit tricky to find either path you take it doesn't readily look open. Secondly I was attracted to the sign outside saying food served all day but when inside I was told food isn't served until 6pm. Be aware of this if you have a larger group or cantankerous people with you. It was 4:30pm and my wife was getting cantakerous. . .Having said that, everything else was at least good and the service exceptional. Expressing our dismay at having to come back or go somewhere else to eat, once our coffee arrived, the service team sprang into action, the chef was prepared to cook earlier and we went straight ahead to order the Chinese selection of foods backed up by the compulsory side dish of chips. I went with the recommended chicken curry with pak choi and t'wife had chicken with udone noodles. It's the only time my wife has cleared her plate, as she says she doesn't like foreign food she is Serbian so anything other than pork is out of bounds. Locally made ice cream from Dawlish followed. An exceptionally pleasant two and a half hours we spent here, well above standard pub grub, and it was a delight to be served by exceptional service staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. Thank you also to mum (Mai) who was the chef, I can only apologise for not eating all the chips even these were superb. Would I go again? Yep! . . and next time I'd choose the steamed sea bass. . . . This is good restaurant food, served in a small restaurant that disguises itself as a pub. I would also recommend booking a table to avoid disappointment. At under £11.50 per hour person, this was excellent value for money. Kid friendliness: I like kids, but couldn't eat a whole one on my own."
