"Our resort (Playa Escondida) recommended Mary’s for lunch. They shared that it was an authentic Mexican restaurant and they were spot on with the recommendation. We took a few seats that are outside (literally in the street, but they are safe) and immediately a waiter was there to get us our drinks along with chips and an assortment of salsas. We settled on shrimp tacos and a shrimp quesadilla. The shrimp were grilled perfectly, they had just a little char that brought out their best flavor. The quesadilla was piping hot, made with a fresh flour tortilla. Not too much cheese, just right with a nice slaw of veggies inside. Before we left my wife took a look inside and shared that a small group of women were the cooks and all I can say is that they did an incredible job. Sodas were cold and service was perfect. If you are in Sayulita and want a great meal stop in at Mary’s. Note- they were closed on Sunday when we were in town, October 2023, so check their schedule if you want a chance to eat here."

"First day in Sayulita ever and maybe a little overwhelmed we dropped our bags at the condo and walk to town. Walked by lots of restaurants before being welcomed by great waiters that made you feel welcome. Found us seats and got us drinks fast. After the first round or Nachos that was probably one of the best I have ever had our diner arrived mine on fire 2 feet high. Delicious beef fajitas, maybe not Canadian AAA but totally acceptable. After a few drinks each and barely able to get up waited for the bill to my surprise was still as avoidable as 4 meals at McDonald’s . Great food ,great service, great environment. We all keep talking about going back soon but there are so many places we want to see"
