"The service was just below average. Whenever staff brought a dish to our table, we thought they may have broken the dining ware. They were not gentle at all. No smile, no ‘enjoy your meal’ of course. They were too busy as the restaurant was busy. Food was fine. We had steamed rice with beef brisket stew, roast duck, and duck and jelly fish salad. Some parts of the duck were good, but some other parts were too salty. They could have marinated the duck more evenly. Beef brisket was soft and not too salty, but it would be better if it could be less fatty. Again the salad had some good parts, and the other overly salty parts. The steamed rice was served in a bucket with a lead instead of in a bowl. There was a spatula in the bucket also, so we could serve ourselves. This was a bonus point as the rice could be always warm."

"Poor service, no ambiance, very average food. Not wanting a big lunch, I ordered a special - salt and pepper eggplant, sweet potato and mushroom. Well I got two of them - for some reason they didn't include any sweet potato. Just eggplant and mushroom. The vegetables seemed to have a thin crust of ?batter on them. Basically a very boring dish - too much of one thing. When I pointed out to the one person serving that a third of the ingredients were missing, she said next time I came, it would be better. Why would I come back?"

"This is a real gem in the middle of Gouger street. The restaurant is very busy, which is a good sign. The food was really good, honey chicken, lemon chicken and satay beef were all delicious and the serves are on the large size. Also reasonable prices with dished between $16 and $20."

"I had chilling sour noodle there. I can't tell the origin of this dish, the acidity came from tomato and pickled veggie and definitely rice vinegar. It's very odd combination. Terrible taste, cheap, but the quality is not delivered"

"Went here and ordered the vegetable dumplings which were very tasty but half way through my plate I bit into a pork dumpling and being vegan this distressed me greatly. Half my meal was refunded but after this experience I have reservations about returning."

"Wow! Take a step into a retreat from the busy hustle and bustle of every day life. Singapore house is a stunning example of beauty, simplicity and perfection. I ordered the spicy egg plant and a kulcha naan. A large serving was presented to me and the flavours were amazing. My friends ordered the beef rendang (an enormous size which she needed a doggy bag for) and the salt and pepper tofu. The only thing more amazing than the taste was the price! They were so reasonably priced I had to check the bill twice. Ill definitely be returning here. The decor was beautiful also. The room was divided into 4 sections and each portion was as stunning as the next, with lovely low lighting and a classic bar in the entrance. I would absolutely recommend Singapore House to anyone wanting a place to celebrate a special occasion or a simple meal with a special someone."
