"I love this place. It’s a little quirky... like their “No Birthday Cake” policy. There is usually a lineup waiting to come in at Pm when they open. Their broths are either Tori (chicken) or Tonkotsu (pork)... but they seem to have a lot...more chicken broth ramens than pork these days. Both types are delicious and hearty. Also try the chicken kaarage and gyoza. The decor also reminds me of the ramen places I visited in Japan."

"Went with a group of 4 couples on a Sunday night. Ramen was amazing! The aburi pork basically melted in your mouth (I suggest paying extra for the extra 2 pieces! . Service was good and quick although they forgot to bring out the tea one person ordered. The atmosphere was nice and the restaurant was spacious compared to other Ramen places in the lower mainland. The only downside is they wouldn't let us make multiple payments with the debit machine. They only allowed us to pay for the whole thing or split the bill into 2. That was pretty inconvenient given that they only take cash or debit."

"The food was okay. The facility was disgusting. When I finished my ok meal, I went to the laundry room and just lost my lunch. I live on a farm and have a strong stomach. After using the washing room I started looking at the dining area, I don't think something except the tables has never been properly cleaned since their opening. The lighting is dim, so it is hard to recognize, but once you see it it turns your stomach. This kind of shit should never be in a restaurant. Most road stops are cleaned better. Is there no health inspections in this area?"

"This new place opened up just a few months ago and is a slightly different take on the standard Japanese fare. The décor is hipster minimalist instead of the traditional bamboo and curtains. I only had a chance to try the sukiyaki and some tempura, but the flavours were quite decent. The service was friendly which is always a plus. I noticed some innovative menu items which i'll have to try another time. Prices were a bit higher than normal, but it looks like Nozomi will cater to a younger crowd."

"The restaurant seems to be listed as Tokyo Joe Ramen although the sign is Ramen Izakaya Okawari. The Tokyo Joe's (I guess non Izakaya) is a cross the street right on Akroyd. This restaurant is in the strip mall across the street. Although there is no shortage off noodles in Richmond there are not that many places for Japanese Ramen. This place still has an extensive sushi menu and many tapas items. The choices of Ramen include chicken, pork and shoyu soup bases. I chose the "black" Ramen, which is chicken base but had teriyaki pork and soft boiled egg. The broth was not that flavourful which is the basis of my three rating. I also had a Negitoro roll which was fresh and tasty. The service was good and friendly. Broth does vary so I may try again when I dont. Want to drive into Vancouver for Ramen."

"We went for lunch. Their door open at 11:30am. We were 2nd. in line when we arrived 11:25am.by 12:00, all seats were taken.family of 4 had lunch combo.1- sashimi combo with small udon2- sushi sandwich combo with small udon3- Shioya(BBQ mackerel) combo4-nabeyaki udonlunch combo come with miso soup.we all enjoyed and they are very reasonable price.we will try for dinner next time."
