"Prices charged did not match what was listed on the menu, when questioned we were told they had put them up & that was it. The Wagu beef, is not wagu, its cheap fillet that was overcooked & chewy. will not be going back, considering all the amazing eateries in surry hills"

"A not too small/ not too big Japanese restaurant in Devonshire Street Sydney a short work from central railway which we came across by accident last night. Didn't have a booking but fitted the two of us in although it was pretty near capacity. We received a complementary small bowl of noodles each along with probably some of the best edamame we have every had. Having been our pub and cafe hopping all day we order light two different small orders of sushi - both fresh and tasty but not really up there compared to many places. Also a main size sashimi plate - excellent and couldn't be faulted. Good variety of sashimi, quantity and size of pieces. We had two glasses of Shiraz and a tap beer. Finished with a commentary panel a cotta served in a shot glass. So not sweet and a small serve - a perfect end. Only real downside to to the place is the noise, there is a lot of noise. Concrete floor, stone walls and hard ceilings - at times you could actually hear each other. So if you happen to have hearing issues hearing aids etc I would avoid because of that. Price overall all an outrageously cheap $61 for the lot. A regular stop from now on I think."

"I went there today, the menu on the window was looking good.Very gentle people. Nice decor inside. 10 aud for the menu Vegan/Vegetarian/Meat that includes also Miso, rice and salad. Rice not gristly (and if you want a second portion, is for free). I ordered the chicken menu: absolutely good, little bit fried and a sauce that seems ketchup but isn't. I'll be back for sure."

"This little hole in the wall, back lane cafe is a stunner. It has a simple daily menu of a couple of breakfast dishes and five sandwiches (including a vegetarian one). The pork belly, the chicken katsu and the glazed ham sandwiches are all excellent....The meat component of the sandwiches is supported and enhanced by vegetables such as fennel, pickled cucumber and a range of condiments such as sriacha and mustard sauce.. The coffee Little Marionette, one of my favourite coffee brands in Sydney, is well made. Word is out about this cafe so there is always a line of customers waiting, but the staff are charming, well organised and efficient so the wait is not long. The sandwiches are served from 10.30 am until 3.00 (or they run out). The cafe is cash only. Although the address is Crown Street, one enters the cafe via High Holborn Street which snakes off Devonshire Street. For a simple, delicious and good value lunch, this cafe is a winner. Highly recommended."

Nothing could be more true when it comes to my almost daily wanderings to Devon Cafe. From the delightfully warm service, to the flavours bursting inside nothing could resonate with more passion! I can safely vouch that whether ordering Eggs Blini or the scrumptious Breakfast with the Sakuma’s the price range is more than reasonable and enough to satisfy any hungry heart! Definitely recommend Devon Cafe for any self proclaimed foodie in search of something new! You won’t be disappointed!"
