"I booked an afternoon tea for 4 people for 1.30. We were asked to sit in the cocktail bar. The seats were low, the table was a coffee table. I would have preferred an actual table in the restaurant. We sat for 20 mins before anyone came in, we had to ask to get the dirty table wiped down. There was no waitress, the girl at reception was told to come in and serve she was telling us she doesn’t normally do the bar as she’s only a receptionist. We got brought tea about 40 mins after sitting, We had to ask for milk. I asked for soya milk but it was off. The girl was running about trying to do a million things, you could tell she was very stressed. We finally got our afternoon tea about 45/50 mins after arriving. The tea was lovely, the food was good but the service for a reputable hotel was very poor. I took my mum there for the first time as a treat but it wasn’t a good experience at all. I won’t be taking her back unfortunately."
