"This was our way into a Champion's League match, but at £250 plus VAT, per person, I was expecting a lot more. My husband is disabled and we were told to arrive early to be sure of a seat. We arrived at about 4:40pm, as...previously we have arrived at the 1892 Lounge on time, only to find that the place was about half full. However, on this occasion, not only was it not opening until 5.00pm, there was a power cut and they didn't know if it would be open or when it would be open. We had to be let in early, as my husband wasn't well and needed his medication, so thankfully Dave, on of the Door Stewards, was very concerned and eventually had to let us in to avoid a medical incident. Dave was a very caring and compassionate individual and was very concerned about my husband. It was about 6:10pm,before the doors opened but there was still no lift or escalators working. We were concerned about getting a seat, but a staff member called Gillian sorted that out for us and managed to eventually get us in the lift and up to our seats. We were offered tea or coffee but we don't drink either, so a member of staff was tasked with getting us drinks and he got us two wines we were frozen to the core to be honest. At no time was food mentioned and then I overheard there were sweets in the corner and I got up to get us some as it appeared to be the only food we would be getting, I was expected a cake or something but it was just a small container of pick n mix but beggars can't be choosers! There was no mention of food made that there would or wouldn't be food. My husband had already had his medication late and without food and was shaking due to that and the severe cold. It was just after 7.00pm when he asked a staff member if there would be any food. He was told it was all out, there were sweets behind the bar, Mars and Snickers, which is hardly food. He did say he could allow us out to get some food from a street vendor. I went out and came back with Fish x 2 and Chips costing £7.50 in addition to the £250 plus VAT we had paid, we had to eat them in Reception but at least we had food. We couldn't fault the Stadium Seats but the rest of the experience was lacking, the lack of information re food and the obviously lack of food. Drinks were also a joke. At half time the choice was really Rose Wine or nothing. On of us was driving so there was no drinks for drivers. The toilets were in darkness, no flush working, no soap, just a bottle of water to rinse hands. It was an experience but not one I would like to repeat. It all started so well when I booked the staff were so helpful and on the day Dave and Gillian was helpful and John did allow us to get food but I had to go for it and pay for it!"
