"I’m not a local, but was staying in the area and looking for a good traditional Italian meal. After reading some recent reviews it seems like new owners and change to an existing format had some locals second guessing. I decided to give it a go anyway and had a great experience. The service was brilliant especially our waitress Jess who was energetic, attentive and knowledgeable. Hold onto her great staff are hard to come by and she is one who represents your business brilliantly. The food was very nice tasty, nice serving sizes and better quality than I expected when choosing this restaurant overall I was very happy with the value for money! To the locals keep giving this restaurant a go I know change is always difficult, but based on what I’ve experienced elsewhere for the market this restaurant is aimed at, I think it’s well above average. Thank you for a great meal and brilliant service That’s Amore! And thank you Jess for brilliant service throughout!"

"$49 for a cheese burger & a pulled pork burger. And then $40 for 3 schooners of ginger beer and a glass of house wine. Worst thing is the brewery that supplies the ginger beer is 300 meters away and we just came from there and a PINT of ginger beer is cheaper than what Dee Why hotel sells a SCHOONER for. At the end of the day what a joke $49 for 2 burgers & $40 for 3 beers and a house wine."

"The Public, is a much improved Bar / Diner in many ways since our last visit, service has improved, however the food on offer is still pretty average, Mains are small portions mostly loaded with green leaves to fill what are essentially small, expensive servings.I agree with Mark W, “Ordinary food thank goodness for the Beer”, the introduction of a Happy Hour is a welcome must to keep people interested in visiting and returning.Live music on Sundays, is well below average, performers are needlessly loud The Public, should invest in some acoustic “soundproofing to reduce the din. Perhaps consider a DJ playing some cool Soul / Funk / Jazz to create a nice relaxed Lazy Sunday vibe.Overall, is much Improved, but still missing the Magic !! ?"

"We are so pleased to have found this restaurant on The Fork site. It is not right in the heart of The Quay but it is well worth walking one street back from George to dine here. The cauliflower soup was superb and my husband's Duck was cooked to perfection and served with a small selection of roasted vegetables. To add to this, a glass of very nice white wine was only $10.... a bargain for the city. We'll definitely visit again!"
