"Me at 12, giggling in the car with my brother, who snickers, heh, Dingus McGees. Me over 30, looking for a place to take my in-laws in Auburn hey what about Dingus McGees? This place is undercover cool. It 's an unassuming old school steakhouse with no frills, no bs, and just plainly good food. We came here after having a super emotional day dealing with my mother in law dying, and the staff was nothing short of amazing. The place has lots of old dark wood, definitely homey style. Food was generous and delicious. We got a place of potato skins with cheese and bacon, a few glasses of wine for the women and just soda for the men. They were prompt with the food, which we really appreciated. Steaks were pretty damn good. This isn 't a Michelin star joint, but they know how to cook a steak and potato, and we all cleaned our plates. It 's one of those spots that 's as fancy as you want to be, but you could show up in jeans or flip flops and nobody would care. Great steak, great potato, we got dessert. Service was excellent. Bathroom was spotless. Parking is interesting. It would be an awesome spot for a wedding. Definitely will return."
