"This is my BRGR replacement. Great hole in the wall place with history. Live shows on the stage some nights, great prices on food/drinks. I am truly glad to have found this place. It’s a short walk East from either the Crossroads or Kauffman Center stop on the KC StreetCar line. Highly recommend, and Wednesdays are burger night right now. Go get yourself some fresh MO beef. "Lunch on a Saturday at 11:45-12:00, no waiting for a table. There were three in our party, so we ordered three different things to share. First to the table was Yaki Udon with chicken. Next was Chicken salad, it was made up of chicken Kara age, lettuce, cherry tomatoes and covered in Mogu Mogu dressing, taste it was! Last and the best was Ebi Kara Mayo. Shrimp and Calamari lightly breaded and fried then tossed in mayo, at the table we were instructed to drizzle a little soy sauce over it all. I'm here to tell you it was to die for! The calamari was so tender, it just about melted in your mouth. Never have I had calamari so good. Oh yeah the Ebi was really good also. The only bad thing about Sama Zama is that it's a FOUR hour drive from my home! We were all quite full after devouring the above, so I'm currently thinking of a few good reasons to make that 4 hour drive so that we can try more of the menu. If you are in KC, you gotta give it a try!"

"Not my kind of place. The bar / tavern had screaming, loud customers on a day when there was no one around. Really a tasting menu, teen plate, teen servings, bad value for money. The waitress told me that the green peppers in my clam chowder were mild - they weren't and had to spit out with a burning mouth. Really embarrassing when I was treated. Instead, they gave me asparagus. Your only vegetable. They didn't notice that my water glass was empty and I had to request it. Backless benches to sit in the tavern / bar, but you can request an uncomfortable chair. Not a place where you, like me, eat a lot of healthy protein and vegetables. I don't like leaving a restaurant where I feel bloated with too much food, but I don't want to go hungry either. The coffee was good after the meal."

"Our friends from Minnesota requested a lovely restaurant with good food and quiet atmosphere. Cafe Europe fit the bill perfectly. Our waitress, Megan, was great and enhanced our evening. Our meal (scallops) was delicious, but we had to send them back to reheat which was disappointing. But overall, a lovely evening."
