"We recent;y moved to a neighborhood not far from this restaurant and decided to try it out. And now go back as often as we can make an excuse to. So far, we have had the chicken shawarma, the beef donair, and the falafel and they are all amazing. They make a pretty darn good samosa as well. And 4 different kinds of baklava (the walnut is classic and amazing but the pistachio is our favorite).The crazy part is how inexpensive the food is. You get a large (which is larger than any pita I have had) for under $8 - and the falafel is only $6.75. They also have other options if there are some in your party who aren't in the mood for pitas but honestly, we haven't tried those since the main attraction is so good.Don't be put off by the atmosphere. It is a simple shop that doesn't seem like much but it is always clean and the food is totally worth it! (We often get takeout since we live relatively close).And while we are finding our favorites around the city and both agree that we would drive quite a distance for these pitas, if we had to. And the owners are really really nice, to boot!"

"Weird name, great food. I'm so glad I found this place, as I now have a new favorite chicken shawarma! The fragrant, rich, meaty shawarmas (and other things) are absolutely delicious. This place is always busy, but the service is effective and polite. It's bright and clean inside, and even the washrooms are inviting.<br/ <br/ For a quick downtown casual lunch, I have found nothing that compares. It's excellent."

"Great guys... delicious donairs... and the salad, side choices are amazing. I love the Cornerstone on a whole wheat pita, with hummus and tzatziki as the sauce. Much healthier than the avg donair."

"Looking for a place for good food in Calgary, a place I am not familiar with, is difficult but a restaurant named Maraj stood out along a busy tramway. I was fortunate to have found this restaurant that had middle eastern food like Shawarma and falafel. Along with my family members I ordered 2 Beef and rice platters, large which came with salad, hummus and bread; one order of beef Shawarma. The food was delicious and we were already planning to come back on Sunday but the owner said they were closed on Saturday and Sunday. We also tried their Baklava which owner Adel said was prepared by his wife. I must say I haven't had baklava that tasted so good. This place is a moderate size restaurant with sit-in tables. I am so happy to give this place 5 stars as they deserve it. Try this place and you won't be disappointed."

"Had to come to Calgary for a Seminar and brought the family with me. My wife is a big fan of Shawarma and she had the Chicken Shawarma plate from here. Without a doubt, it is the best Shawarma she has ever had. Great job."
