"This is the new spot for myself and my lady for breakfast on Saturday mornings ever since Tom’s in Franklin closed. It’s a little bit out of our way, but it’s our breakfast spot nonetheless. Price is a reasonable, the food is delicious, the staff is friendly, the place is clean. Not sure what else you could ask for."

"My friend and I were attending an event nearby and decided to check out Taxman. She found it online and was excited to find a self-described gastropub. When I first heard that word my first thought was 'probably over-priced and somewhat pretentious '. I wasn 't entirely wrong. Our event began at 7 on a Saturday night so I made a 5 pm reservation. Upon arrival I noticed a few tables occupied outside and the inside dining room was not at all busy. We are in our 70 's, and instead of asking us for a seating preference, we were led across the room to a long stairway. My companion objected on my behalf, and we were curiously seated at a table for 2 next to a family with small children. There were nearby empty booths. Upon scanning the menu, my early suspicion was confirmed. The first sandwich on the menu was the trendy Wagyu burger for $22. Next to that was a fancy grilled cheese for $17. Oh please. The server was a long time coming. She apologized for the delay, saying there wasn 't a point-of sale pad for her. Poor planning. My dining companion ordered fried green tomatoes and a salad with brussels sprouts for $12 each. I wanted chicken and settled on the chicken and waffle for $24 because I didn 't want to pay $15 for 5 chicken wings. We shared a side order of Belgian frites. The food was slow in arriving, about 30 minutes, and it all showed up at once, crowding our small table. I sampled the frites, and they were barely warm, almost dead on arrival. She enjoyed the fried green tomatoes but didn 't finish her salad. My chicken was half a very small bird and the breast was overcooked. The waffle was not a traditional Belgian waffle made with batter, but had the consistency of pretzel dough. Not at all appetizing. With 2 two glasses of wine and an iced tea, our bill was just under $87. With tip, over $100. Again, overpriced. As we were leaving, I encountered the fellow who had seated us. I asked why we were led across the entire dining room to a second-floor stairway and then to a small table next to a family. His reply was that it was the upstairs server 's turn. When I told him we wouldn 't be back, he simply said 'that 's too bad ' and hurried away. First and last time for us at Taxman."

"Love this place. Sushi is great, prices are great, service is great. I would recommend this restaurant dine-in or carry-out to anyone. We love their sushi, but that's just the beginning of their menu. My family and I often get their crispy pork belly. You'll love it."
