"DO NOT USE FOR MR BUTTS FOR CATERING...THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF Mr. Butts was a recommended option for a rehearsal supper I was hosting for my son 's wedding in Grayson. When I called, I spoke with Nita and asked her if they could cater a meal for 30-35 people and Nita told me I had to order enough for 40. This is the first time I have ever ordered catering so I had no idea what why I had to order so much but I did as she said and I asked Her to put together a package for me with the meats and sides I wanted for 40 people. I knew nothing about how they calculated portion sizes and when I came by the store the day of the supper, she showed me whole a roast and a brisket, I was clueless to how much I needed. I repeatedly told her I didn 't know and asked if it was enough for 40 people and that I needed her to figure it out. I still had to decorate for the dinner and I was very confused by the whole ordeal. I told her that I trusted her to put it together. After all, this is her business and I was counting on her to know what to do. I had to pay right then (around 1PM) and I had arranged for someone else to pick it up at 5:30PM. It cost me $538.41. I was shocked that it would cost about $17.95 a plate for BBQ and I really didn 't know what to do. But I trusted that she knew what she was doing. And what she did do was had me pay for a catering package that would feed 80-90 people. As a result of this overselling, more than half the meat and sides were left. The next day I checked on a local (I live an hour away from Grayson) BBQ restaurant, and based on their menu online, I could have put together 4 of their family packages to feed a total of 32-40 people with the same choice of sides for $295.96 tax $330.59 AND that included Texas toast and relish! NOW I know that based on standard portion sizes, I only needed about 16 pounds of the combined meats. She had me pay for 25 pounds. I only needed 5 gallons of combined sides. She had me pay for approximately 15-20 gallons. SO MUCH WASTE! So I really do feel I was taken advantage of. When my husband talked to Nita the next day, she said she would give us a refund. Then she changed her mind. During that call, she LIED to him and said I had ordered food for 50. Why would I do that? I had a guest list for 35 and two were children under 10. And when I placed the order, 5 guests and already told us they could not attend. Still...she had me pay for enough food to easily feed 100! AS FAR AS THE FOOD QUALITY GOES...it 's BBQ...so it 's all pretty much the same...HOWEVER you should know that the chicken breasts and brisket was terribly dry!"
