"Health: Their food is consistently exposed to the air allowing foods to be dehydrated. The salad in the salad bar is not washed, and is openly exposed allowing insects to land on it, sometimes die inside. They do not wash the greens in the salad bar. Sometimes the fridge breaks allowing customers to receive room temperature salads. Note: The army in Wainwright and JBER is well worth your dollar. They provide not only more food, but affordable and basic health expectations are met. Even MCAS Iwakuni (marine base) has a better enlisted DFAC, in both management, supplies, and cost (a $6 there is a $20+ meal here). Newer Overall Review: Images below are still very much relevant. They try but fail to enforce the expectation of the minimum food guidelines, commonly expressing below standards as they can't provide the minimum due to poor management and failing to keep items on shelves stocked. The grill has been closed for a week for no publicly explained reason. Many of their machines are still out of order so there's more shown than what's actually available. This facility is a perfect example of mismanagement and poor logistics. Old Overall Review: The main flow of their money is the amount of airmen that don’t eat but have $400 taken anyways. Images below are $10 meals. First time airmen find to appreciate this DFAC until they visit another base, then realize, this DFAC is one of the worst they’ve ever used. The low staffing, poor supplying, bad cooking, and hours is astonishing. If they were put on a legitimate business without government assistance or monopolizing airmen, they’d sink within a few months."
