"Wow, seriously good pizza. One of only 4 of the established woodfired pizza ovens in Glasgow which tastes so much better. It's going to be a little more expensive than your classic Pizza chain deal but the deliciousness more than makes up for the difference in cost. No complaints here. Well worth it and recommended."

"Wintersgills has developed a fairly undeserved reputation as one of the rougher pubs in the St George 's Cross end of Great Western Road. OK, compared to nearest rival the Liquid Ship, where the closest thing to a square go is a I had a toasted goats cheese and pinenut crostini not the chicken bolero querying of the bill, it 's rough. But in the grand scheme of things, it 's an entirely acceptable venue for a quiet pint. What is perhaps a more accurate description is that, while the Western, Cleopatras, the aforementioned Liquid Ship and the Captain 's Rest have all overwhelmingly succumbed to the gentrification of the West End, Wintersgills remains a traditional pub which has changed little over the years. The drink is reasonably priced, the food is plain fare and the football is on TV. Some of the regulars may be a little gruff but they 'll certainly not threaten you. Or talk to you either, mind you. What a lot of people fail to realise is that the owners also go to great lengths to put on entertainment for their punters. This can range from psychic nights to live music, and of course the obligatory karaoke night which has eased the pain of those who were left karaoke-less following the demise of the Western Bar 's legendary night. My last encounter with Wintersgills came on Hogmanay, when, in the lead up to the bells, a traditional piper appeared playing Auld Lang Syne... ...sporting an Adidas tracksuit. And this is perhaps an apt summing up of the pub as a whole; just because it 's a little rough around the edges, doesn 't mean it 's not doing exactly what 's expected of it."

"I visited my sister in glasgow and bought 2 itison offers £8 for all 2 pizza pasta per voucher. we were served by a very pleasant young man and girl. the food was good. £4.95 for a cocktail and £13.60 for a cold chocolate that was reasonable. we would go back happy and pay the full price, the beauty of these offers is that they can try at a reasonable price and in this case we will return."

"Food and service decent. Value for money shocking. 2 course lunch deal for 2 people with two cans of juice came to £55. Wonton soup was honestly worth about a quid. A small bowl of tasteless broth. The portion sizes for the mains was a joke. A kid sized portion of rice with about 6 pieces of chicken, some chopped veg and a few spoonfuls of sauce. Felt absolutely robbed. Would've been better going to the chippy on way back to the car."

"Disappointed with our lunch recently. We were a group of 6 who haven't eaten in Cafe Gandolfi for a number of years and we were expecting food of remembered good quality and value, however, some of our choices from the menu were a real let down. We were served salads that were piled high of lettuce but very little else and Macaroni Cheese (how can you get this wrong? which seemed devoid of cheese and lacking in any taste at all! Cafe Gandolfi has a wonderful ambiance and the service was good (apart from a lipstick stained glass for water which had to be pointed out, but these things happen so it's even more of a pity that the food itself, considering it's not inconsiderable cost, didn't match the same standard."
