"Tucked away this really is a gem to discover! I can honestly say this was the best meal we've had in the last 4 weeks.The Berkshire porkchop with crispy panisse, fennel and olive stew, grilled aspargus was 'heavenly'!The girl in the long grey coat (owner, maître,waitress?) was a delight: extremely friendly, welcoming, informative, suggested the perfect pinot noir to go with the pork: TOP!Being restaurateurs ourselves for over 20 years we only have 1 advise for the guy (owner, maître, waiter?): you are right that regular customers must be pampered BUT one must breed regulars out of firstcomers. Hearing you say: " when i came in they had already set those ladies at your table" gives a very uncomfortable feeling, chatting with your back to the entrance, not noticing people coming in: not done.Never let appearances lead your judgement: one can look simple but hide a world of experience!This said, the chef did a great job and the establishment itself is very inviting so we definitely will recommend this!"

"We have been customers for the last 5 years or so. When in Nelson shopping , occasionally we will get Chinese takeout for home. Truly have yet to be disappointed. A little dumbfounded by all the negative reviews."

"Ordered from here last night. Woman who took the call first complained that we wanted delivery. Called us again complaining she had not recieved the e-tranfer we sent within 5 minutes of ordering. While confirming the transfer, she says make it snappy. Terrible customer service, consistenly very rude communication.Food is only mediocre. Basic indian style, nothing to make it stand out, and very small portions. 3 main dishes was not enough for 2 adults."

"We were excited by the aromas when we first walked in, but the meal was only ok nothing special. We placed an order that contained a chicken box with a 1/2 chicken, 1 rib box with a full rack of ribs, and mac cheese for sides. With ratings as high as this restaurant has, I was expecting something much better than what was served especially for the price. For anyone that has not had authentic BBQ before, the shortcomings of our meal might not have been noticed, but it really was only fast food quality at regular restaurant pricing. The meat on the ribs was hard, a clear indication that it had been cooked for too long and also left heating for too long. The BBQ sauce was both too sweet and acidic with too much fake smoke flavor. The chicken was the best part of the meal, as it was still juicy and tender, but the gravy was bland. The corn muffins were too dry, and even with the chicken gravy on them, not worth eating. The mac cheese was not fresh or cheesy, just lifeless, hard pasta with some unmelted globs in between."

"I went in. a simple question about the substitution of a topping on the special. the swollen joch that worked there was rude with this answer. a simple no would have worked. the place looked very dirty. not recommended"

"I was recommended to stop by here for a bite to eat. The food was unreal! The service however was below par. It wasn't overly busy or anything.. so I'm not too sure why the service wasn't great. I don't want to go into detail about it but from one server to another, I wasn't impressed."
