"We ordered a takeaway on New Year’s Eve and unfortunately the paper bag containing all of the curries collapsed when I removed it from the plastic bag and all of the food ended up on the kitchen floor. The restaurant were excellent in agreeing to replace the order and the food was, as always, delicious. Top service and excellent attitude. Five stars."

"Not disappointed again by the food or service. had only one seafood plate one of the best if not the best of the fishquay. it must have been about 8 different types of seafood in a beautiful cream sauce. they have a good choice of fish dishes to love to taste all the specialties"

"I visited this last night for the third time. I am so impressed that I have taken various family and friends with me every time, if nothing was too much effort until enzo the chef made fresh suppe so that my father could try to house because he was not with us. what a generous way to do. so far between us we had breakfast, coffee and cake, dinner and drink all delicious, so my experience and thought amazing food, fabulous staff and management fantastic venue and great worth I will be back with more friends at the weekend, if I can wait that long"

"Excellent choice of food items and very reasonably priced. I opted for the Man O'War in the absence of available Cajun chicken. It was very spicy so if you like a bit of heat I'd definitely recommend it. Staff were really friendly and the service...was fast considering it was the lunch rush. Lots of regulars from what I could tell."

"Newcastle Village Hotel, you can’t REALLY expect to deliver a shoddy cash-grabbing experience like the party of 09/12/2017 and not be called out on it. £30.00 for a turkey dinner? Maybe, for a quality Norfolk bird with ALL the trimmings cooked to perfection; absolutely NOT for this spew. In fact the difference between what it said on the menu and what was served up is so brazen that one can almost admire the cheek of it. The “Proscuitto Wrapped Turkey Breast” was not wrapped in ANYTHING: it was just cheap-tasting turkey breast, like cash and carry stuff. Likewise the “pigs in blankets” HAD NO BLANKETS: They were just cocktail sausages, and not quality ones but the type that contain trotters, ears and lips. The stuffing made Paxo taste like the work of a culinary master by comparison, and the only things I’ve EVER tasted that were soggier than the roast potatoes were the roast parsnips in the next tray along. I can’t comment on the sprouts or carrots as I don’t like either: it would have been nice to have had a greater choice. When the hotel emailed us the menu weeks earlier it asked about any dietary needs, so we advised that one of our party had a gluten intolerance. If he expected a bespoke meal he was sadly mistaken: on the night he was just told not to eat the sausages or the stuffing. Two and a half hours later, following complaints, the man who seemed to be in charge offered to knock up some gluten-free pasta. It was way too late by then. To be fair this has been my experience of Christmas parties over the years: the food is invariably overpriced and substandard yet enough people are persuaded to cough up in advance to make them highly lucrative ventures. It’s a cynical business, and the Village Hotel is down there with the worst of them. Oh yeah, and my cracker contained this tiny little spinning top."

"We've ordered twice from krispers. Once on just eat and the second from their own website . They've sent everything we ordered , well packaged. They couldn't be nicer , we rang up to check delivery was as we live quite far away . There's plenty chicken on the bone and good value for money ."

"Been in today to get a ham kids sandwich and a 6 inch veggie Pattie. The guy serving didn't change his gloves in between handling the ham and making my sandwich. I was going to say something then was detracted by my son. Whilst I would rather he changed his gloves it wasn't the be all and end all for me personally. But a heads up to any vegetarians keep an eye. Also, he was rather miserable and muttered all the way through. Food as expected."
