"Food was very good, but the service was slow, and our waiter was just not attentive. We had to stop him to ask for anything, he never checked on us at anytime after he took our order. He would walk by and look at the table but never make eye contact and never stop to ask if we needed anything. That, combined with slow delivery of everything (drinks took a long time, and a wine refill ordered from the runner when our food arrived finally showed up as we were finished with the entrees) overshadowed very good tasting dishes. Homemade pastas were great, and I had a really nice bronzino. Too bad the service made it all stink."

"Absolutely recommend this place for any occasion! The food was so delicious and the service was some of the best I received in the area! I ate my meat lamb so fast that I didn't make a photo? But I did a photo of Dessert! Also the Saturday brunch menu that differs from Sunday!"

"We were so excited to try this highly-rated place after reading such great reviews! It ended up being pretty expensive and not like we imagined. 1. We went there to watch a specific football game, requesting that channel when we made the online reservation. Once we were seated, had ordered and were waiting for the game to start, we were told they didn’t carry that sports channel. Um, if pure going to call yourself a sports bar, you should carry all games. We had some discussion about leaving, but we’d made the drive to LaCenter and paid for parking so elected to stay. 2. Food and drinks were FANTASTIC but overpriced. Service was good but it took a long time to get our food. We had a $200 bill for 4 people and only three of us were drinking alcohol. 3. Atmosphere is great with all the TV’s but be warned, we were overwhelmed with the smell of cigarette smoke the entire time we were there. Tom’s is located directly next to the casino floor and there was no filtering system or airflow control to keep the smoke out of the restaurant. That’s the thing that will keep us from ever returning."

"My experience at the Red Rooster was without question a negative one, but what made it especially infuriating was that it would be SO easy to fix some of these problems so easy, you wonder why it wasn't done before I walked in the door. I came here with my mom for dinner this week. This is a place we often pass on the way to downtown Ridgefield for lunch, and from outside it looks like a more upscale eatery that would have a great Sunday brunch. I was surprised when I looked at the website and realized it was more mainstream/blue collar, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it does make me wonder why they ultimately went in that direction when they had such a gorgeous building to play around with. They've clearly spent a lot of time and money on the interior, to great effect. It has a rustic farmhouse/stable vibe with wood everywhere. Some of the partitions have metal bars, so it kind of feels like you're in an Old West jail (but you're not unhappy about it . My mother, who is super particular about her dining experiences and has had to suffer through a lot of hipster gastropubs outside of her comfort zone, was enchanted. I've never actually seen her get up from her table to walk around and look at the decor. She was especially taken with the giant clocks. For Red Rooster's sake, hopefully she writes a review to counter mine, because she had a great time here and plans to come back. I had an ominous feeling when I sat down in my chair...and immediately felt a stinging pain in my hand. A quick inspection confirmed that there was a sharp object slightly protruding from the edge of the seat, which was noticeably stained and worn down. At that point I absolutely should have just switched seats but figured I'd just avoid that edge. I of course forgot about it 20 minutes later and was stabbed again. The second stabbing is on me. At the end of the meal, I did bring it to the waiter's attention, who thanked me and said they'd look into it. I've attached a picture of the chair here, and you can see that it should have been replaced a while ago. Again, an easy fix that should have been rectified before a customer almost drew blood, especially since it's so noticeable. If you have the financial resources to open multiple locations (they have restaurants in Wilton and Newtown as well , you should be able to spring for freshly upholstered chairs. For my entree, I ordered the elk burger. It wasn't very good. This particular piece of meat had literal pockets of grease in it, where you'd bite into the burger and you'd get sprayed with grease, almost like popping a pimple (I know. I was grossed out too. It didn't take long for the bottom of the bun to be completely soaked with the grease as well. Most of us have made a burger before and know to squeeze out the grease during the cooking process. Again, an easy fix. My mom got a pesto tortellini dish with shrimp. She of course loved it and would order it again in a heartbeat. It's stunning that this pers"

"The kale salad and my fish were excellent; my husband was not wowed by his steak. The desserts were a bit disappointing who serves a pear apple crumble that's not heated up? but the service was excellent. Overall, a nice experience but I won't rush to go back"
