"House of Yee is a typical small-town Canadian-Chinese restaurant. External appearance is non-descript. Internal ambiance is plain and clean, but without the usual Chinese kitsch lamps, lucky cats, etc. Walls are painted an unusual pink colour. Seating accomodates approximately 60 patrons... half in booths and half at functional chairs and tables. The menu includes the usual collection of Canadianized-Chinese Chop Sueys, Chow Meins, Soups, and variations on Chicken Balls, Boneless Pork, Beef, Chicken, Spare Ribs, Chicken Wings, Wontons, Shrimp, Noodles, Egg Foo Young, etc. Full Course Dinners based on combinations of the above range from "Dinner for One" ($11.50) to "Dinner for Ten" ($120.50)Dinner for Two ($22.95) comes in a couple of versions...(A) 2 Egg Rolls, Chicken Fried Rice, Chicken Chop Suey, Sweet & Sour Chicken Balls(B) 2 Egg Rolls, Chicken Fried Rice, Vegetables Chop Suey, Sweet & Sour ShrimpsFairly mundane, but portions are large, ingredients fresh, and preparation standard good.The "Chef's Specialties" are more interesting... a list of 15 specials, 6 of which are marked at "Hot & Spicy". I heartily recommend both the Spicy Shanghai Fat Noodles $11.80) and the Cantonese Style Beef Tenderloin ($20.50)- The fat noodles were fried with tender beef, shrimp, a large selection of vegetables and oyster sauce. Very tasty. The menu said "Hot & Spicy" and the dish did a have a nice tang, but in no way overpowering the taste of the individual ingredients. And the beef was tender as promised.- The Cantonese-style tenderloin beef was a huge mound of tender beef, with just a smattering of vegetables to complement the protein. Very, very good.On both my visits this year, service was good. My second visit was on a busy Sunday night, with lots of take-out business, so waiting time after I placed my order was a little longer, but the meal was worth it. Additional notes:- Chopsticks available... just ask for them - Washrooms are bare bones functional but clean. - I noticed a couple of high-chairs tucked away in a corner, so by definition kid-friendly.- Not LLBO licensed- For those that care... No WiFi - From experience last year... this is a family-run restaurant which closes down for a 3- or 4-week vacation in the month of July. So in July, better call ahead to find out if open.Bottom line... Recommended as an overall good stop for a reasonably priced Canadian-Chinese experience."

"Reviewed this restaurant online prior to going, saw great reviews. Saw a soup that I really wanted to try. Went to restaurant, ordered soup. Waitress stated we don 't make that. I even acknowledge I saw their review online. She said must have been wrong place. I brought up the review on my cell, and she said, 'well, we don 't make that '. So I continued to review her menu, in which she said was a 'NEW ' menu, as it was new owners. So I proceeded to notice several items whited out..more than 10 items. So I decided to order their Asian style beef under the Chef specialty, 18. She said, we don 't make that! I proceed to say, thank you we 'll be leaving as I came here because of the reviews, because of the menu. For a restaurant that states the menu is new, the owners are new... they didn 't have much on the menu. : If I wanted rice and toast like the couple beside me, I wouldn 't have needed a review."

"One thing about this franchise is they are pretty consistent regardless which city you are in.......this one fits that as well.......small lineup was dealt with quickly and our turn for the fixings was within 5 minutes...plenty of staff to handle the lunch crowd........had the steak pita, with my choice of stuffing and BBQ sauce.....as always, was satisfied......and yes will return to this one and still on my list of go to's in any city....."
