"I booked The Boat House at Cameron House (we’ve been times before). Paid a ticket. And very disappointed this year. No tablecloths in the restaurant and food was warm. No atmosphere and staff looked like they were being held to ransom. After dinner...it just got worse. ceilidh band just played well Ceilidh tunes. And as we couldn’t dance, what was the point?? Staff cleared the tables of decorations at And pretty much ushered away. Fireworks were of them. Yes, fireworks. Everyone left before and this was the worst New Year celebration ever. Yes, I know there was COVID to cope with, but there are better ways to deal with it. I doubt this hotel are proud of this event. A real shame. Photo taken at the crowd say…oh hang on…there isn’t anybody here!!!!"

"Her Sunday menu has absolutely no vegan options apart from suppe and beside meals. do you have to think that vegans don't eat on Sunday? Nevertheless, the manager was really good and helpful, gave us a feedback card and he really seemed to want to make the place better, but it is part of a chain so that who knows who is actually responsible for the menu."

"What can I say about the course business lunch at McMonagles Fish Resturaunt(The Boat) Chicken goujons second to none with tender chicken breast and crispy batter. Haggis in batter again cooked to high standard with crispy batter nothing greasy about these with salad perfect!...Steak pie was awesome, I have never had a pie anywhere else that is bursting with prime diced steak with a freshness of puff pastry lid on top. And yes dessert? Hot caramel shortbread cake with cream to end the feast as that is what it was, and all for under Take me home daddy I'm stuffed, and you wonder why I always come back here. Well done to all the staff who made me feel welcome A* Bernie."

"Although I’ve been visiting Dumbarton for odd years I’ve only recently become a permanent resident and I’ve always struggled to find satisfactory vegetarian options in the local Chinese takeaways. It’s usually just mixed veg in a sauce, so when I passed this place and...glanced at their menu more in hope than expectation it was a pleasant surprise to find three tofu dishes. I’ve tried two so far, salt and pepper and Szechuan style and both have been fresh and delicious and a good deal less salty than some. Tofu with black bean sauce next time. The bonuses are that everything else is also delicious and even the meat eaters in the family think the food is an improvement on our usual supplier of fried rice and noodles. New family favourite"

"Lovely menu plenty to choose from. Husband opted for steak and myself for chicken stroganoff . Both cooked to perfection and served piping hot and very tasty . Pleasant staff( who did check in to check food to our satisfaction and nicely furnished surroundings . Food very reasonably priced too. Enjoyed our visit . We will return."
