"Every dining experience always comes with consummate service and a long list of tapa choices on small plates that come with a beautiful presentation and never disappoint. Quality consistently meets expectations. Longtime manager, Sergio is always gracious, welcoming and attentive. We started with a delicious cheese plate (could use an additional soft cheese variety to fully round out the three hard cheese sticks) with assorted meats and olives served with warm bread. Followed with Empanadas (meat pies with a crispy warm shell), Beef plate and Halibut: each perfectly prepared. Ended with Tres Leches sweet and rich sponge cake and strawberry dripping. Rincón 38 has been our favorite for years. Cozy, leisurely restaurant for foodies who want to taste as many dishes as the stomach allows."

"There are many good reasons Monte Carlo has been around since 1906: the food is traditional (read uncomplicated and toothsome, the bartenders (wearing starched white jackets make superb cocktails for grown ups (no Scooby Snack foolishness here , and the waitresses are completely and wonderfully old school (efficient, attentive, and leaning towards 'Hiya, hon ' friendly . It is impossible for me to pass on the Szechuan Green Beans and merely unlikely that I 'd pass on Charlie 's Kitchen Steak Sandwich. Nevertheless, Scallops Basilic are always satisfying; although the optional heavy cream spoils the lightness of the simple basil, tomato, and white wine sauce. Whiskey Peppercorn Filet is not as black peppery as I 'd like, but it is still totally delicious. Considering the compact yet complete menu, there 's no reason for anyone to go away hungry. Monte Carlo is what it is: unpretentious and unassuming (the appetizer is not swellegant pate foie gras, it 's good old chopped beef liver. It 's food everyone can enjoy, served by a career waitstaff in estimable surroundings a place far, far removed from shopping district eateries."
