"Very nice ambience. The two Girls serving where very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Definitely an asset to the owners. We ordered their Sunday Lunches and can say that it was first class, top notch in presentation, quality and superb value for money.I can highly recommend it for a visit, we will certainly be back. I would have given 5/5 if they had some Real Ales on but I believe they had sold out. Not to worry, hopefully better luck, next time."

"Rustic Cup is aesthetically appealing and its Ethiopian coffee is excellent. They use the same company as Boatyard (Cullercoats), which is one of my favorite coffees. You have undergone many changes in staff and menu since we started in 2020. It was inconsistent in its opening hours, but it was always worth a coffee and cake when it was open. The uneasiness began when the owner began to open (during a pandemic closure) about his belief that Covid is a hoax/conspiracy. We went after a while until we ended up there with some of our friends. The experience was embarrassing for us. We were made to involuntarily ask if certain items were suitable on the menu for vegans, as their menu was unclear. We find that their food is usually unclear in its suitability for vegans. When we asked employees, we received different answers. It turns out that some options we have been told vegan in the past have been found to be made with dairy products. Several times we were missed; although I am sure it was a mistake and not intentionally because it happened several different times, we find that we can no longer trust what they claim. We felt like an inconvenience. I was embarrassed when a member of the staff called a message from the kitchen that we did not ask or expect accommodation for vegans in future visits and said we had called forward to check (we plan to check what was suitable; we were given various information when asked in person). I felt contradictory about staying in spite of being ordered; If I were alone, I would have gone out. The owner is quite rude and just a little "out" with people. They would benefit greatly from the fact that other employees learn the menus and run the café; it's a beautiful place, but we felt out there. I'd be worried if I had any allergies, because their knowledge was irritated and those responsible seemed rather irritating. It is all quite irritating under the polished surface with a feeling of dissatisfaction for those who simply want to know whether what they eat or drink has milk in them or not. I find it unnecessarily unpleasant."

"With the 2 dogs, my wife 1 sat outside on the way back from the coast, we both had the steak-pie chips with a pint to wash it, good as ever. the two dogs had a venison sausage. highly recommended."

"I was happy to go to my salt and chili tofu and roasted veg flatcake, especially after reading some good reviews, but there was much too much oil used to roast the veg. my flatbread dripping everywhere on the place when I tried to pick it up, gave so much oil, that was a scandal, as the tofu was actually well cooked and very well seasoned."
