"We visited The Braided Fig as part of Aberdeen Restaurant Week. The menu offering compared to some of the other venues taking part seemed one of the best. We arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation and were told that it would be a bit of a wait until we could order our food. I thought this was odd and a bit concerning that they were somewhat unwilling to accommodate early dinners. Anyway, they said that we could have a drink while we wait, which was fine. That said, it took them almost 15 minutes after sitting down to offer a drink. When we were eventually given the menu, everything sounded tasty. We asked if we could order our desserts after our main meal, which I understand to be standard procedure, and were told we had to order everything at once. Again, I found this odd and a bit awkward for the sake of it. The food was good and tasted very nice, and I had no complaints really. A small point to note is that it was disappointing that that the Chicken K.F.C starter was clearly frozen chicken fillets as opposed to home made fried chicken. Also, again I was a bit disappointed that the burger was not home made, which you could tell from the taste. The service was so-so, some of the servers were more on the ball that others. The wait between courses was a tad too long. We were in there for around 2.5 hours and didn 't ever request a break between courses. In terms of the restaurant itself, I am of the view that it could do with a freshen up in decor. I remember visiting here probably over 10+ years ago and recall the place looking the same. My partner thought the same and he has never been before. Would I visit The Braided Fig again? Yes, but not in a rush. I think it is in a prime location, with overall good quality food. I think with a freshen up on the decor and some further staff training it would really be a fantastic venue."

"Plenty of space for parking. A quiet location off the beaten track. Polite, friendly staff and tasty food, reasonably priced. Rather odd that three different members of staff all came to the table at different times while we were eating to ask if everything was ok."

"Best dish is Chicken Briyani. You will never miss Indian food once you step in here, authentic juicy chicken Briyani! Freshly prepared unlike other restaurants.
