"We visited with friends yesterday (15/5/22) after a trip out to a local beauty spot and had booked in advance. We arrive 30 mins early so sat in the garden with some drinks. We went in at our booked time and had to wait 20...mins for the table. Once seated, we were not asked if we wanted any more drinks and we had to ask a passing waiter to take our food order. The meal arrived in a timely fashion but was not of the best quality and certainly not worth the extortionate prices! The chicken roast was the best of the bunch and was enjoyed by those of us who had it. The lamb roast was fatty and tough, the wagu burger was ‘ok’ (the bacon was described as crispy it was not and the fries were smothered in Parmesan and were basically on a par with McDonald’s fries At £21, this was beyond overpriced!! I would say the biggest rip off of the day however was the kids pizza hot dog and fries. It was a tiny finger roll, one half size hot dog sausage with a bit of cheese and chorizo on and a few ‘McDonalds style’ fries. No side and not enough to fill a child. How much did they charge for this meal that I could have thrown together for 75p? £7.50!!! Absolutely beyond a joke! At no point did the staff ask if we wanted any more drinks and when we complained about the price of the hot dog, the waitress just said ‘well that’s our prices’!! We had every intention of having another bottle of wine and more soft drinks and also desserts (probably another £70) but we were so disgusted by the service and quality (and cost) of the food, we left. £130 for 4 adults and 4 children for 1 course and one drink each! We eat out regularly and are happy to pay for good food and service, but we would not give this business any more of our well earned money and will not return."

"A hidden gem! Excellent food, fresh wonderful flavours and very inexpensive too. Lovely relaxed atmosphere and the staff are super friendly and helpful. Bring your own alcohol for a small corkage charge. Highly recommended."

"If i was writing a review on the food, it would have probably been a but the service was the worst I have ever experienced! It was slow, rude and some of comments made to us were downright upsetting! We were vising friends who...live in the area and it really changed the mood of the night. The taxi driver overheard us talking about the experience on the way home and asked where we'd been. They said they weren't surprised. When anyone asks for a recommendation, this is place they will never recommend. Ii understand why now."

"Called in for breakfast on a very cold morning. The selection available for a small cafe is amazing. We had a choice of 3 different size breakfasts. The light breakfast was enough for me but my husband had to try the mega , what a plateful that was and red hot!! Well done to the chef!! A lady near us had a sausage sandwich and said it had 3 big sausages in it. While waiting for our breakfast i read the menu and there are also lots of lunchtime options.The place is spotless and the staff friendly. If you are around the mapplewell area pop in, you wont be disappointed."

"Celebrating a family birthday , Chilli Lodge is our go to . We like mid week as it’s quieter but this time two big tables had been booked so quite a buzz but fortunately we were served before they arrived ! We tried new mains including Afghani lamb have had this with mutton too and it’s very good and Murgh Jalpuri , everything very good. Extra staff to cope with the numbers and as friendly as always . Thanks"

"Fabulous meal! Went for Valentines night and had the Winter Menu we came from Wakefield as we had heard such good things, everything was gorgeous. A beautiful historical venue with a real cosiness and charm! Chloe our waitress couldn't do enough for us and was very attentive all evening. I had the chicken supreme which should have come with Dauphinoise potatoes but it came with roast potatoes instead nobody made me aware that they had run out or had changed them) but they were equally as nice so didn't really bother me! I would highly recommend visiting My partner talked about the beef wellington and monks beer all the way home! We will be returning as we loved it so much, thank you!"
