"We were guided to this place for dinner by a local. It's overall good in terms of service and atmosphere. Friendly bar and waiting staff. Food arrived fairly quickly . We ordered a curry which was lovely however the nan bread it arrived with was disappointing as was the popadams. Nan bread was uncooked and like cardboard. We fed it back to the bar staff who said they would let the kitchen know. Nothing much else was done or said. It was disappointing no one came to ask how the food was . The halloumi chips were also disappointing at £1 per chip , only 5 small chips. We liked the chili sauce it came with . The Mexican 5 bean chilli salad was mediocre with the rice being cold and clumpy . Dessert was a treat. Lovely apple crumble and generous double helping of vanilla ice cream which was also nice ."

"A fine example of what Wetherspoons' do well. Pub style cuisine of good quality and at excellent prices. Staff were friendly and service prompt. We shared a spicy meat pizza, nice crispy base and generous toppings."

"We were staying in Hope recently and picked up our picnics and lunches here several days running. Everything was lovely but we'd particularly recommend the spinach and ricotta pastry, the sausage rolls and the Bakewell tart/pudding. The staff were really friendly and I was especially touched by how patient they were with my (adult) daughter who is autistic and has a learning difficulty."
