"I was really on this place to lunch after all the positive reviews. I got up late, so I'm not sure if my companion has chosen the option yum cha or whether it is served during lunch, but I was incredibly disappointed that I couldn't order from the menu. Anyway, I explained that I was vegan and they said that the cook would make vegan options. the first offer were two different mushroom dumplings and some rolls. then it was broccoli. the dumplings were okay, but I wasn't blown away from the aromes. I will first ring next time and see if I can get a regular menu at lunchtime, but if not, I will not return for the yum cha. the personal really nice, but I think there were 3-4 vegan options in the time my friend was offered about 8-10 non vegan options. updated by previous review on 2019-08-04"

"Family catch-up lunch planned for a central point between Seaford and Mt Glascow was Footscray. Not being familiar with the western suburbs of Melbourne, we took the advice of friends to go to Roti Road, as they had been and discovered wonderful food right in the heart of Footscray. Plenty of 2 hour parking around the area but you need to park a block or so away so be prepared for that in your planning. Excellent Malaysian and Chinese menu with Yum Cha available every day until 3pm. We were greeted very warmly and seated very comfortably with good solid large tables. The manager was most friendly and humourous and took delight in complimenting our menu choices. We stuck with Malaysian Roti dishes and each one was superb. So what was planned as a one hour or so lunch soon became a three and a half hour session of delectable cuisine. Very friendly and comfortable restaurant I highly reccommend to anyone. We will be back again!"

"Better than most Vietnamese joints at Footscray. <br/ <br/ ordered: <br/ Grilled pork chop, with shredded pork and pork loaf on broken rice: $11.00<br/ <br/ Review:<br/ Love Vietnamese broken rice because Mum rarely never makes it at home and it’s a real treat when she does! But when you have that craving Footscray’s vast Vietnamese restaurants have you covered. I reckon this place has the best broken rice grilled pork I have! It has the char grilled favour, its incredibly Smokey on the outside but extremely juicy on the inside! Shredded pork was a nice addition to the dish, pork loaf was the best I had in Footscray..it doesn’t have too much msg like the one opposite chain chain. It comes to your table nice and quick, and fills you up to the brink. I really enjoyed their soup accompanied with the rice dish, it had a natural tasting chicken stock flavour with fresh veggies! Definitely didn’t have much msg in that broth : . But nothing really wowed me it was only slightly better than the places I’ve been! <br/ <br/ <br/"
