"We were very kindly welcomed.The waiter / Maitre d' was very kind and helped us to orientate our choices.My son chose the spaghetti Carbonara specialty : It was wonderful : the maitre d' ignited a good alcohol on a big parmeggian loaf and then mixed the spaghettis with the melting cheese : It was the best pastas I've ever eaten (I picked in my son's plate !!)"

"They had ran out of wine. They ran out of vodka after one drink. The food was shockingly bad. We ordered 3 cheese volcano nachos and they basically poured some crisps on a plate with some cold cheese sauce and salsa in a bowl. This cost us 24lei per plate = £5 per plate. One of the plates was the bottom of the bag which was basically crumbs and dust. We told both members of staff that it was really bad and gave them the opportunity to refund the really poor food which they chose not to do."

"After walking past bar after bar in the old town and being picked out a mile off as a tourist by a waitress in front of each and every one, this is such a refreshing change! The food, music and beer is allowed to speak for itself and the result is a chilled out, relaxed vibe where people of all ages enjoy the atmosphere. An unobtrusive security guard also makes sure the usual beggars and children selling flowers etc.. are kept out which also enables you to relax. There is a choice of food vans.. not all were open when we went but the ones that were were tasty and reasonably priced. The staff were all really friendly too. Yes, you can get a cheaper beer in other bars but you'll be missing out on that beach party atmosphere it's hard to find in a big city."

"Visited Hanul cu Tei on a couple of occasions on a recent trip to Bucharest, superb venue for a leisurely beverage and has a decent food menu to boot. The proprietor, Dumitrescu, a Romanian football legend in his own right, was on hand front of...service, ensuring table (outside with heating when we visited) service and operations were in order. Well run, efficient and attentive service, Hanul cu Tei is my first choice for an evening drink and a bite in the Old Town of Bucharest (parts of which can get a little unruly for my taste). Take a walk upstairs and appreciate the size of the establishment, very impressive..."
