"We bumped into this restaurant by accident while looking for some place where we can pay by card and can sit outside. Abadia met both requirements. Even though the pavement is a bit hilly, we were able to sit in an uprgith position. The waiting staff was always fast and kind to help us choose what we want to eat, and their bitoque with eggs is just so delicious and their potato crisps so crunchy that everybody needs to try it out!"

"We made reservations for 7:30 where we were shown to our table and given a complimentary iced tonic water and lemon. Started with an Alheira ball and lamb croquette pastry. Lamb beat out the Alheira but both were tasty. My partner ordered the mushroom and chestnut risotto which was delicious and rich. I ordered the pork cheeks with chips which reminded me of an excellent goulash. As good as anything one could imagine dining on in a fine Budapest restaurant. So tender the meat fell from my fork. Service was incredibly attentive and friendly. Our waiter even advised us when we’d ordered one too many dishes. Their reputation is well deserved. You won’t be sorry."

"Stale bread, likely 2-3 days old, average soup, horrible steak (seriously, the beef was so bad, the worse I ever had in Portugal). Overall just terrible food with very low quality. Service was ok, the decoration of the dining room looked like the owner went to the attic and placed all the old junk on the walls. Definitely a place never to repeat. It looked like their customers are all tourists that walk in because of the location, I 'm sure most people won 't go back. Very disappointing."

"After eating out for two weeks in Portugal this is the worse restaurant so far. 45 euros for 3 people a plate of potato crisps a small plate of salad and some pork. The staff stood around watching tv. I would not recommend this place."
