"I'd been to Mosaic previously for coffee and once where I had a Bruschetta which was nice. Coffee has always been good. However, today I went with a friend for breakfast. I asked for crispy bacon and fried eggs with toast. My friend ordered an omelette. Some time later they came out, and my crispy bacon was burnt edges but I thought, that's okay. There were some fatty bits on the bacon, but I thought I could work around it. I cut off a piece of bacon and a piece of egg from with a bit of toast and to my surprise - it was stone cold. I thought I was imagining it. My friends breakfast was hot. I'm not sure whether they made mine first and then hers, but I asked for it to be replaced. It came back with what may have been the same bacon and a little more cooked, new eggs and new toast. However the plate was so hot I couldn't touch it and toast wasn't crispy, I suspect it had been popped in the microwave with my bacon and then the eggs placed on top, I don't know. More disappointing was my bacon tasted like an uncleaned grill. Not nice. The girl serving was pleasant and had apologised, but it's not her cooking."

"Arranged a gathering of some friends at Altona RSL. First of all a band was playing and it was full of drunks having a good time. We arrived just before meal time to have a drink in time for dinner before the others arrived. Drink prices are reasonable. We selected a couple of mixed grills and a couple of other meals. The mix grill was terrible the steak on it was absolutely horrid,grisly and fatty. They charged $25 each for this shocker and the prices are similar to restaurant prices.We left there not impressed and won't go back."

"We had tea from here with friends last night and it was delicious. The grilled fish was the best, good chips and potato cakes just like they should be. South Melbourne dim sims just to finish it of. Lovely and clean and good service. We...will definitely e back."

"Don't let their run down appearance turn you away! There is a reason this place is always full.<br/>One of the best chicken rolls I have ever had! In fact, they could only make it better by adding one or 2 extra things onto it such as a bit of red onion. The chicken is never dry and they don't have huge wait times or prices.<br/>They have quite a large menu but I have never had anything bad from here in the last 14 years.<br/>They could, however, do with a bit of a revamp as they look a bit run down."

"I've often bought ice cream from next door (same owners) and yesterday we thought we would try some fish and chips as the ice creamery is great.The fish looked like it was cooked on the outside but it was undercooked in the centre. After almost throwing up we threw it away. I haven't felt well today and I only ate one bite. They probably cooked the butterfish from frozen hence the outside (batter was golden brown) giving the impression it was cooked.Simply put, I can't believe that they don't realize how dangerous it is to not properly thaw out what they are cooking. Their lack of understanding of safe food handling practices cannot be forgivenNever again!"
