"Something of a Marseillan institution, the Boulevard is great for a good value, well cooked menu du jour. They do the simple stuff very well indeed. Good charcuterie to start, followed by a great piece of bavette perfectly cooked with accompanying chips, dauphinoise potatoes and pepper sauce (other sauces are available). To round off one their lovely desserts. All for under Euros. You won't find that value on the port."

"This place is set off the main street, and - Tardis-like - is bigger than it looks from outside. You wait to be seated (it was very popular) then choose from a series of set menus which allow you, for a fixed price, to have as much as you like (go back for seconds) of different dishes offered in the same set. You then go to the main serving area, grab a plate, chose your main, and serve yourself salads, bread, chips, etc. Pizzas are ordered at the table, and brought to you, as are drinks. If you want more, you just go back and get it till you're full! The food is good, not great, the wine by pitcher is basic, but you can order better stuff. The atmosphere is great. You are sat at tables very close together, the diners are out for a fun night, and conversation with your neighbours is almost unavoidable. We had a great time.The menu is mostly pizza and mussels, but there is a bit more variety than many on the street."

"Went there 2 days ago as our teenage children fancied pizza, my pint tasted very strange, should have asked for another but didn't, we all had pizza, all of them had burnt bases and weren't that great, wouldn't recommend a visit based upon our experience."

Mainly locals with a few visitors, more in summer..Owners do not...speak English but are very helpfull and want to please"
