"My wife and I had lunch of the set menu. Pate to start followed by Roast Duck. As my wife does not eat potatoes only as chips They were happy to change the roast potatoes for chips. To follow she had a chocolate cake and I had a strawberry compote. Excellent value for money and really good food and service."

"Very nice quick lunch with our family and our dog. Quick service, nice food, especially the set menu which was filling. Really nice that they allowed a baby in a high chair and a dog under the table."

"End of August and seemingly every place to eat in Montbron had decided to close for their holidays together. Only this was open and it seemed more like a bar than somewhere to eat. It's save for a handful of drinkers...but the...lights went on for me...I was asked what I wanted to eat...we settled on pate followed by Toulouse sausages. Both were really excellent. The pate coarse and garlicky (and the accompanying bread top class). Sausages char-grilled, and served with big mounds of mashed potato and green beans. (So large, it defied my appetite to finish). Couple of glasses of chilled rose went down a treat. Le Patron friendly and accommodating ditto the chef (who also did the waiting). All in all a really good and unexpected treat, which rescued an otherwise dismal evening. Who knows if it's always this good main thing was it really delivered for me."
