"Absolutely adored the service and food!! It was our anniversary and we decided to visit Oxford for the weekend. We went to Turl Street for lunch. When we checked into our reservation, they immediately wished us a happy anniversary and provided complementary Prosecco. It was incredibly sweet and the Prosecco was delicious! The food at Turl Street was fantastic. We started off with their soup of the day which was carrot and ginger. So flavorful! Loved it! I then had the chicken salad, which was fresh and delicious. Strongly recommend the restaurant for its amazing food and service. I wish we had gone back for dinner!"

"I had to travel to oxford for work, and although I didn't get the chance to really explore the colleges and their reasons, I managed to try my way through a few restaurants. portabello oxford smoked trout and salmon mousse the smoked trout and salmon mousse had a slightly creamy texture that played well with the trout and salmon mix. it was beautiful and clean. grilled criminal dusted squid fillet with beautified babyspinch, I wasn't too grilled by the crimped crust, but the squid fillet was perfectly grilled. vanille poached birne with ginger ice cream and chocolate sauce dessert was inexorably normal. the meal was part of the three course dinner option price at £16.95 for the price, this...more"

"I had one of the most memorable nights that I can't remember here. The winding alley leading up to the pub, the clinking of pint glasses, the conversations"

"After a week of nice “coaching inns” and gastropubs, we were looking for a more upscale establishment for our last dinner before finishing our visit to the Cotswolds and Oxford. Browns had the more modern ambience but the food and service were somewhat uneven. Given we had 6:45 reservations, the restaurant was not all that busy but there was a large table of what appeared to be students who had just graduated or finished their term. Staffing could have been more generous to keep things moving. The “happy hour” cocktails were decent; the Aperol spritz tasted like the ones on Lake Como and the Amaretto Sour was excellent. Our sourdough loaf arrived with a nice crust and steaming hot inside. My roasted chicken was presented nicely with a tasty brown sauce on the side. My wife’s fish and chips (she wanted one more before leaving England) was on the other hand had sections that were disappointing soggy. Not even close to the fish and chip at the Hare Hounds in Westonbirt. Tried the Cavendish sparkler made in Kent since I have heard that England was making reputable wine particularly their sparklers. Unfortunately the Cavendish turned out to be a disappointment especially at almost 9 pounds for a stem. My wife thought she would have enjoyed a good Prosecco more."
