"We’ve ordered takeaways from Bombay lounge several times and the quality has been consistently high. Tonight there was a mix up with the order. The delivery guy (sorry I didn’t ask your name) caught the mistake before handing the order over. We ended up after only a small delay with nearly double the food we’d ordered (the original incorrect order was complimentary, on top of our order), a free bottle of wine and profusive apologies. Absolutely fantastic customer service. Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"Me and the missus came to the Barley Mow for a night away last week and were absolutely blown away. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We were greeted and shown to our room by Toby and then catered to by manager Will later that evening. The somewhat eccentric but extremely friendly bar man completely made the stay for us. The room was spacious and clean with a very comfortable bed and fantastic view from the window. Our evening meal was exceptional, good quality food and good portion sizes (especially for the price! . Some of the chefs even took the time to speak to us about their menu, after their shift, which added to our experience. The Barley Mow is a great little country pub with great rooms, great scenery, great food and incredible service. We will be back!"

"Visited with a friend after a long wait,, very disappointed,, cheese pie, cold tasteless. Will not go again. Save your money go to the Red Bull in Seburgh, pies there are delicious."

"It is over 40years since we last stepped into the Alma Inn and a lot has changed to be honest I don't remember it from then, but we decided to go out for lunch and as we only live about 10mins away now thought we would try it, we were not disappointed a very warm welcome greeted us we were asked if we were staying for lunch and got our drinks first, the food was lovely very well presented and tasted great trust me it will not be another 40 years before we revisit I think The Alma will be a regular place to dine, oh And did I mention the views what a spot 365 deg. Views of the fabulous countryside both Yorkshire and Lancashire.......fabulous ......"

"Can’t fault this lovely little pub. we stayed here when we came over for the emmerdale tour, the rooms were gorgeous and so private away from the main pub. very good value for money. I am gluten free and the gf options are tremendous also a lot of vegan/ veggie options. every meal was a great portion and food was faultless. the service from staff was so kind and welcoming : atteneded to anytbing we needed. the pub was so lively and great atmosphere , can tell it’s a much loved place. will be back here when we visit again. plenty parking for guests too"
