"Having been here previously and enjoyed the food, I was very dubious about visiting the restaurant after it has been rebranded to Long Sun. The reviews are pretty terrible, and I was braced for a miserable experience… However, staff greeted us as soon as we walked in the door, and were very friendly, bringing us prawn crackers with our drinks as we waited for the rest of the party to arrive. When they did, and we moved to our table, they brought more prawn crackers as we looked over the buffet menu (which seemed pretty much the same as before) for £18.50 each all you can eat. You can order up to 2 starters and 2 main courses per person (plus rice) each time you order this might seem a bit restrictive, but it's so that the kitchen can prepare your main meals as you are eating your starters, so there is less waiting between courses. It works perfectly, and if you want more starters you can just order them with your next round! There was never any suggestion that we would be made to pay for any uneaten food, and we felt no pressure to do this I can only assume that if this has happened it's because people have ordered far more food than they could eat, wasting the great food. And it was great food! My favourite was the roast pork curry, which comes with a nice, thick sauce and is very tasty. The king prawn dishes were amazing you could tell they were very fresh as they were light and fluffy and cooked to perfection in every dish we tried! All of the roast duck dishes were tried were equally great, from the pancake starters to the main dishes, with the balance succulent and crispy just right. I don't really have any criticisms. Personally, I'd prefer slightly smaller portion sizes just so I could try more off the menu, but they should be fine for most people. I'm a chili head, so would also prefer more spice next time I go I will see if they can do mine extra spicy, but I'll be happy either way as it still tastes great. Overall a brilliant experience staff were all very attentive and shook our hands as we left. I'll be going back soon!"

"I had a time for the family. the food was cold and tasted as if a bowl of sugar had been thrown in. could not eat, cold and gummy!!! everything in the am! they said that would be solved the next day? it's a few weeks now and nothing. in the meantime I contacted the restaurant again, but they haven't reacted yet. they don't waste their earned money, there are many other restaurants out there."

"Above average fish and chips but probably not as perfect as the blurb in the shop says they are! Don't let that put you off it is above average. The staff are nice and chatty. There does tend to be a queue. The fish portion size can be variable. (Had a big portion one day and one that was half the size the following week. It is clean and tidy and the staff seem cheerful in their work. I will use again."

"We were in the past many paintings for dinner and Sunday dinner here, and it was always very good. sad to say something has changed. we had a nice starter, but our roast was not at all pleasant. the bubbly pork was served with...un scratched, sharp and hairy skin. the bark was overtaken and there was no possibility as we would have cooked it. (the bark may sound smoky, but that was a food store before. the braids looked like they were cooked and sweated before they were reheated, the broccoli/cauliflower was still hard. that is why we did not stay for dessert. the whole look and the feeling of the place has changed, both with the decor and the atmosphere, it felt more like a kantine than a restaurant, especially in the bar area. there is a lack of professionalism throughout, its not clean and tidy, as it was once, no personal uniform / in reasonable clothing, many young workers with an obvious lack of training. the toilets were either in stock, damaged sitting, worn donating and not as clean as they hope. we were so disappointed that we would not return."
