"Although this is not my local ...I’ve had the pleasure of doing some work refurbishing it this week . All I can say is THAT IS HOW TO RUN A PUB ! For the last three days I’ve earwigged in on a team of people that truly care . The phone rings constantly with reservations and each and every time it’s answered it’s with care and attention . We were fed whilst working there and the food was prompt and truly delicious ....we were made to feel truly welcome . A true measure of success is how the customers are and there’s lots of them) and all of them were cheery and sociable . Was an ABSOLUTE pleasure to be in your hospitality for the time we worked there . What an amazing bunch of people . And the small fortune spent on the place this last week has TOTALLY transformed it . A fantastic country pub with a contemporary twist and a genuinely lovely team that take pride in what they do . I will definitely be spreading the wordTOP JOB WINDMILL STAFF"

"I ordered meals of various choices; cod, haddock, sausages, pies, roe, fish cakes all with chips. They were to be delivered to Etchinghill at for a reunion. The food arrived exactly on time. It was just the right temperature. The portions were big. My meal was excellent and everyone said that their meal was too. Blue Ocean supplied peas, gravy and curry sauce in separate containers.All the meals were individually wrapped and they were marked so that we knew what each meal was. Excellent food, excellent portions, excellent service. Easily the best fish and chip bar in the district. I have used them before and this excellent food and service is just what you would expect.Thank you."

"After a day after go ape, we have gratefully settled outside this pub and are not happy! the renter took the time to check us, advise and while we waited for recovery, we enjoyed drinks and snacks. the pub interieur was beautiful, really nice atmosphere, but especially really nice staff. would definitely return to this place (with a car that works full) and if eating is served as options good thank you"

"Love eating here. always busy and sometimes hard to get a place to sit. but eating is fantastic. Sausage ei and chips are my fav! hot chocolate and other hot drinks are also beautiful. regarding the garden center, so it is always at the season that is great. can be a little expensive. the plants outside are good to consider as long as they do not rain. a thing to be with cautious is with a trolley the floor can be a bit uneven at places, so be careful not to tip trolley sideways over an elevated piece floor or trip over. my grandparents owned a garden center a few years ago, so I have learned a lot of them about planting, but someone who just goes out can be overwhelming. some indications about what plants can go there and earth where they need and when to plant it would really be useful. toilets have run down a bit, but it's a toilet they don't spend much of the day there. it is very busy with parents and children the most of the day. seems, wheelchair friendly, only they see the bumps outside."
