"Visited on the Bank Holiday for a celebration meal. Food was lovely well cooked, piping hot and very tasty. I had steak which was cooked exactly as asked for and hubby had a fish platter. Plenty of food, nice atmosphere, clean and safe. Definitely...coming back again soon."

"I liked it here, I’ve been before many years ago and it’s had a massive overhaul, no more pink fluffy slippers and mixed grills. I liked it, staff were spot on, menu was good, the owners have a few pubs selling gastro foods, ticked the boxes.Wasn’t mega posh, but a huge step up from the Wetherspoons.Steak was tasty, needs more local produce though."

"Had a great late lunch with a friend who is a local here. I had Lamb Shank. Perfectly cooked, with thick dark gravy, just up my street. My friend had rump steak. We both commented on how filling and tasty our choices were. Really enjoyed the ambience, the service and the food. The interior is massive, but was spotlessly clean. Really enjoyed it here. See photo."

"Came for dinner today and was very impressed with the place. We were friendly greated by the head waitress as we walked in and offered a Resturaunt, Bar or outdoor seat. On choosing outdoor we was told our drinks would be served at the table and we could pick any seat we wanted. The young waitress talked us through all the menu, recommendations and also answered any questions we had. I had the soup of the day and the Ploughmans with a side of truffle chips. The food was amazing (only slight downside was the chips were laced with garlic but it was only a very minor downside), the price for the place, the view and the food and drink was more than reasonable. The service was a little slow but it was dinner service and with only staff on and a few people in I can let them off for that. Honestly dont get the previous reviews. They have either massively improved their service or something doesnt add up. Cant wait to go again."

"Wanted to try this place for a while. Travelled from Nottingham for visit and worth the drive. Prawn Cocktail with slight chilli heat was Devine. Roast Turkey dinner was pipping hot and tasted amazing. Left feeling so full I don’t think I will eat for a week! Lovely log fire burning, staff were outstanding and attentive. Would love a pub restaurant like this on my doorstep! We will be back for sure!!! Price per person: £50–60"

"We stopped here after taking our daughter to the sutton bonnington campus of nottingham university. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We ordered the chicken, gammon and spinach pie and burger for our son and they tasted wonderful. The pie was lovely and the...mixed veg was cooked perfectly. After a tearful goodbye at the campus it made us feel better. We will definitely be going back on one of our many visits."
