"The Bay Horse is part of the group of vintage Inns and that was my first visit to one of their restaurants to taste their vegan menu and when we took a non- vegan friend for lunch, I needed some catering for all of us. The vegan options are not only a token salad or after thought, but a good selection of appetizers, nets, sides and dessert. There are several soups on the menu and you are always vegan, so we chose both cauliflower Mulligatawny, served with Ciabatta bread. The soup was hot pierced, with a beautiful thick texture and warming on a cold June lunch time, with lots of bread for diving and cleaning the bowl. As the main course I ordered pine nuts and carrots, with one side of the fried butternut pig and carrot and spiced squash coconut curry for naves. The falafels with sharp red pepper peel and ciabatta were as tasty as the sweets and sweet potatoes and although an appetizer, it was much big enough as a lunch dish. Hubby's Curry was a good size, the loads of vegetables and beans and the charred chilis on the top added a lot of heat, so much that he had a real sweat, but he loved it. We were too full for dessert, although the puddings in offer were very tempting, but it is good to see that they are not just fruit salad. I think Vintage Inns vegan menu is a fabulous offer, the food is satisfied with a lot of taste and good value for money and I will definitely return."

"Been past this this lovely cafe/restaurant on a number of occasions and it was always shut, but did not realise it was only open Fri Sat and Sun? Luckily, we just happen to pass this Sunday, on one of our walks along the canal to Gargrave. It was certainly very popular and was not disappointed with the quality of food. In fact from the outside it looked quite small but it is very deceptive and was larger inside than we expected!! We would certainly recommend.."

"Unfortunately, we were turned away for our 13:15 booking. They had allegedly told OpenTable that they had a pre-arranged function. I suspect user error on their part. No genuine apology from the restaurant but continued effort to blame OpenTable. After travelling long distance (for Covid permitted reason, I add), this was very frustrating. We were not willing to wait until 15:00 for a possible seat. I asked if they could help with an alternative booking, but they simply pointed at another pub!! Can 't rate the food properly, and NEVER put myself in the place that I can try it in the future. I will however continue to tell my Yorkshire friends of our terrible experience."

"I just called it for a lunch on Sunday. I managed to sit somewhere. that's a good sign. ordered drinks and eating. nice friendly staff our drinks came fast and eating about 15 minutes later, what is exactly right to say how busy they are. we ordered both sampi and chips with garden. we both thought where excellent quality and cheesecake for the dessert 10/10 for the correct pub grub. when I'm back in the opposite will be back."
