"There was a long wait to even be acknowledged... 19 minutes at least in total It was busy with only 2 staff members and deliveroo Uber eats just eats orders occupying almost all of the time of the staff members. New orders coming through were prioritised over customers waiting on store, so we 'd be pushed further down the queue. The customer facing staff member could only be described as hating her life. She looked like she absolutely hated her job. No smile. Ignoring everyone in the shop. Customer service is not her calling maybe. There was a man who was in the store at the front of the queue when I entered, who walked out of the store after 15 minutes. The Manager came back from somewhere, his staff member joked did you get lost? , Implying he 'd gone for longer than expected leaving them shorter staffed. Once he was back, nothing improved. He had a little chat with a customer who he recognised, but other than that, no eye contact still with anyone else. I asked to speak to the manager quietly to the side once I 'd reached the front. I didn 't want to make a fuss, just let him know that I was put out by the lack of care and attention and then make my order. I started off with I just wanted to give some feedback. I completely get that you 're busy and you 're short staffed, so the wait times are longer. However, I 've waited 19 minutes, and no one has even made eye contact with me... . The manager cut me short and said well we 're busy . I asked how busy are you that you can 't look at people in a shop and give them a smile at any point over 19 minutes? He interrupted me again You can see yourself we 're busy . I asked him So you 're saying that I am stupid then? He stuttered no, just it 's busy... At this point I told him Listen, I just wanted to give some feedback quietly without a fuss, and make an order, but you clearly aren 't interested in hearing me out... He interrupted me again well obviously I 'm sorry for the wait, did you want to make an order? At this point, I couldn 't justify spending money here. No thanks, don 't worry about it . Ok, cya was his nonchalant response. I went to Manns up the road on Hamsey Green instead. With the long wait and grumpy looking young staff member, I probably would have given 3-4 stars if I had left a review. With the owners extremely poor handling of a complaint made by someone who was willing to spend money with them (and has done so many times in the past), it 's 1 star and I will NEVER use them again. They are popular and busy, so I doubt that they 'll miss my business, but I won 't miss their customer service."

"The staff were very attentive, friendly not pretentious at all, they made you feel very welcome. It was the little things, for example, when we checked in, the receptionist asked if our stay was for a special occasion (it was, my wife's birthday) without our knowledge, she had made a note of this for our dinner reservation my wife was presented with a surprise sweet treat after dinner in honour of her birthday. Both dinner breakfast were of a high quality, with a good variety of options the wine list had a good selection too. We would highly recommend this hotel look forward to returning."

"We booked here for our wedding anniversary and it far exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived the warm welcome and attention was 5 class. The drinks lounge was cosy and candlelit and we received lovely snacks to accompany our drinks. My cosmopolitan was the best! The restaurant itself is stunning. In daylight you have views out on to the Surrey Downs and in the evening it is candlelit and inviting. The service here is impressive with everyone playing their part in making your experience with them one to remember. The food was superb. The thrice cooked chips are worth a mention on their own. My husband is a passionate carnivore whilst I am vegetarian. The choice was extensive and we were delighted with the dishes we chose. I had one of the best mains that I ever ever had. It’s so nice to be offered something different to pasta! I can not recommend this place enough and am so looking forward to a return visit. We loved it here and had a truly great evening that we will remember forever. Thank you to everyone at Cloisters for making our ‘date’ so very special. Long may you continue at doing what you do best."

"Eaten here and had drinks here a few times and never had an issue . Today arrived for a table that I had booked a week ago . It was quiet yet they would not entertain or accommodate us in the bar area and even told us people had booked only a minute or so ago ! Flabbergasted that they would sit a couple in an annex with families with young kids and babies bot relaxing at all . Such a shame as food here is good. Went to the Wattenden instead with great service and very accommodating"

"Appearance outside ,has plenty parking and inviting . The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere , tables laid ready , good presentation. Staff were friendly quick to seat us ,serve us with a drink ,and left us with the menu.Interesting December menu with a good variety...of meals , also Christmas menu consisting of two or three courses at fixed price. We chose from both menus. Food arrived quickly and extremely well presented , tasty. Friendly staff checking that all was well . Delicious meal .We are looking forward to returning to The Cherry Tree and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it."

"My sister and I met up for dinner really impressed with the pub itself very spacious and very nicely decorated and clean. Very warm welcome and lovely, attentive staff. We shared a starter of squid which was fabulous. I had a summer special which was fillet steak with cheesy gnocchi and it was just absolute perfection. Cooked perfectly and so tasty! The sauce was literally to die for. We then shared a caramelised vanilla cheesecake which was absolutely delicious too! Really impressed all round and would highly recommend!"

"We went to this pub to celebrate the birthday of my handicapped son. we had a family celebration for 10 of us. the staff was very friendly and extremely helpful especially to the needs of my life. eating was very pleasantly inexpensive. this is a beautiful pub in a great location. we will definitely return here."
