"You see these beautiful pictures when placing your order. Our waiter was dumber than dumb. The food is nothing like the picture. I will NEVER eat at any Wimpy again. Their service and food is mediocre compared to other places."

"We had made a reservation. On arrival, we asked if the rye bread was 100% and were assured that it was. When it was served the colour of the bread did not seem right so, we asked again is it 100% rye whereupon the waiter checked with the baker who advised that NO, it was NOT 100%....This was the 2nd time this has happened to us regarding rye bread.This means that the staff are NOT au fait with their products.We sat at Table No. 1. On a previous visit I had mentioned to the manager that a dead mosquito was splattered on the wall, by the painting.I think it's part of the decor because the wall has not been cleaned yet..."

"The waitress had no interest in serving us, let alone working on the facility. the food came to everyone, but they had forgotten to make mine. I wanted to order a Rump-Steak, but they said they weren't on camp. a thank you to the manager who has done his best to correct a very bad experience."

"Hello, thank you for taking the time to follow up. Gives me hope for a better experience next time. I was there this afternoon. Around 14h00. Look the place was pleasant and the young waiter tried, he did say it was his third day or something. He didn't know the prices of your brandy special or if you had a pool table on the premises or not, I figured he should at least have known that. He was very eager but not informed at all on what's going on. And on top of that the black label quart I orders was not cold. It was not hot either, just not what I'm used to. The standard of service in all the pubs in the vaal is so high that I could not rate you establishment higher. But at the same time I will be back to see if it was just a badly timed visit and after your waiter has had some time to settle in. He is a nice boy and seems very bright, so he saved the situation and is the reason I will come back again for another visit. You may think I'm unreasonable rating you badly as a result of those small faults, but as I said the level in the vaal is high. Thank you again for your follow up and I will be back again for another go. Cheers."

"This is my favourite Ocean basket branch by far. The staff is friendly and service is fast and efficient. They have their own chili sauce, which you wouldn't get at any other branch and is delicious. The atmosphere is buzzing, but still warm and comfortable. They also have a special dinner for two with 2 glasses of wine for only R99. Definitely worth a visit!"
