"Very quiet cafe tucked away where the old church was, hence the name. The Pillars outside added a nice touch. Pet friendly . Unfortunately, the 2 staff members looked like they had just come from or on the way to a funeral . The half smiles seemed forced, and they didn't look that happy to be there, which added a chill to the atmosphere . That said, the coffee was the best I have tasted yet in town."

"Very good experience overall. Delicious all day breakfast and nachos with beef. Excellently presented. A little scant on meat but very nice. The restaurant is set in an open kiosk like area. The Philippino lady who served us is so sweet."

"We are Christchurch locals who wandered into this cafe one evening for coffee, and were very impressed with the lovely, warm atmosphere by the fire, the professional, friendly staff, the quality of the food and coffee and to top it off, great value for money! "One of the most memorable steaks we’ve tried. We ordered a few dishes to share the Tomahawk, bone marrow and venison carpaccio, and a cheesecake for dessert. It was my first time trying bone marrow and I’m glad I did. It went very nice with the bread provided. The venison carpaccio was good as well, so was the dessert. What stood out for me was the Tomahawk. The steak was cooked medium rare. It had a nicely charred flavour on the outside, and tender on the inside. Would return if I’m ever in the area again. Chatted with the lady at the cashier and discovered that she’s visiting my home country in 2 weeks time. If she reads this “I hope you enjoy your holiday as much as I enjoyed my visit to the restaurant.” :"

"Nice and large coffee. There are plenty of car parks around. The menu is large and contains some unusual meals. The starters are generous and we have not been disappointed with our main course. There is a children meal. Prices as usual."

"Service was nice and friendly. I ordered the pancakes and was well presented was just a same they don't make there own pancake mix as the brought ones are always a bit dry. Would go there again and try something else. My ice coffee was pretty good."
