"Excellent service but food poor expensive and too little of it. £100 for sausage and mash and 2 small strips of salmon and a soup along with 2 gins and water was not worth the money. Left hungry. Background music too loud. Shame as excellent location and the waiting staff were superb."

"Dined there on our first night in Edinburgh, after long drive up we felt it would be perfect to eat there and explore more the following days. It was absolutely delightful, the food was immaculately presented, fresh, flavoursome and out if this world, It was sparsely populated with most people in there enjoying a nice cocktail and a pint of Innes and Gunn. I would highly recommend the restaurant, I had the Prix Fixe menu with haggis spring rolls. cod loin and chocolate fondant. It was all incredible. Just one word of warning, the wife had a cocktail that nearly knocked her socks off, they are potent and full of booze."

"Come here for the coffee, don't come if you just want food. The coffee is the best in Edinburgh. The vegan food is great too, but it's limited and sells out during the day. Vegan options including soya milk for hot beverages, soup, salad and sandwiches (until they sell out), vegan cake at the weekend (maybe during the festival too). This is a serious coffee place and they take coffee and food very seriously! The staff are great (when they are not too busy) and willing to chat to you about the coffee and the various brew methods they offer. Bare concrete walls, simple furniture. During term time: lots of students and academics. During the festival: festival times. Don't let that put you off though, it's really the best brew in the city!"

"Could not fault a thing. Very friendly service, excellent food, warm atmosphere. Wide selection of Fish, Burgers, Pizzas and Salads, and a great value kis selection. We had a party of five across three generations and all meals were thoroughly enjoyed. Will make sure to visit again next time we are in Edinburgh."
