"Dropped in for dinner and another time for drinks on a short holiday weekend trip. Service was slow but food decent. Live music caters to a more mature crowd. Nice location on Granville island by the water."

"Start your night off right!. Went to Baru for the first time, the food, the price, the location, the atmosphere are amazing. <br/ <br/ Whatever you decide to have it will be simply excellent. All the staff are warm and made me feel as though I was walking in to visit family.<br/ <br/ When you make your reservation and head over you should really consider trying the ceviche...a highlight of my Friday night : If you have gluten allergy don't hesitate to tell them they are very accommodating. <br/ <br/ Looking forward to planning another night out at Baru!"

"I got lucky to get a reservation at AnnaLena the one night I was staying in Vancouver through the waitlist and it exceeded my expectations and I had really high expectations from all the reviews and Michelin star!! First of all, the service was amazing, the best I've ever had at a restaurant. Our waitress was really kind and explained the menu thoroughly. She even brought us a free glass of wine due to the previous party taking a little longer to leave making us wait a little. So worth the extra few minute wait haha. Our menu was Chapter 63. We had poured through the menu online before coming which listed 5 set tasting courses. I was delightfully surprised to find that they gave 3 additional courses that weren't listed on the menu to try. They gave us 2 extra small appetizers at the beginning before the first course. Out of the 5 menu courses, the Smoked Squid Spaghettini was my favorite the pasta was a perfect al dente, had the perfect amount of sauce and consistency and great flavor. I'm not a huge fan of squid, but the way it was cooked was so delicious, almost had a porky flavor. I also loved the bread that came with the second course, it was crispy and doughy and went so well with the sauce. The 3rd additional course they gave us was a small rice krispy and jelly at the end after dessert. The tasting menu was $98 CAD which I thought was pretty affordable for a Michelin starred tasting menu. I was also so full by the end of it. I highly recommend AnnaLena if you're in Vancouver, it's one of the best restaurants I've been too!!"
