"As an American living in Germany, getting really good steak is somewhat problematic. Don Camillo is simply the best steakhouse in the area. I have been there 4 times and each steak was better than the best steak I have eaten at other area steakhouses. The staff and overall environment is friendly and very family friendly. The food comes out without much wait. Another benefit is they serve real Russet Baked Potatoes which has a different texture and skin compared to potatoes generally served in Germany. The only downside is if you come to the Cologne/Leverkusen area without a car, getting there is a bit difficult so the patrons tend to be local. This, however, has an upside in that getting reservations for reasonable sized groups is not difficult. While the food is not cheap, the prices are no outrageous for the value of the steak. They do make some other dishes but I don't know why you would eat anything other than the steak."

"After a comfortable walk through the woods we emerged into the pedestrian shopping area of Schlebusch one Sunday afternoon recently and headed for the Café im Dorf for ice cream. Each of our party of 5 + baby ordered something else. I plumped for the chocolate ice cream sundae which was enormous and delicious but heavy on the calories… We also had the chance to make comparisons with the black forest ice cream sundae & the walnut ice cream sundae to name but two.Service was quick and efficient bearing in mind the relatively large number of families and groups of friends who had emerged to enjoy the spring afternoon.This was a pleasant afternoon stopover and filled that gap between lunch and dinner."

"Was there with my daughter today. It was full of breaks and we set ourselves outside. Within a short time we had drinks and delicious food. Out there were cozy blankets as always. Service was flott and super-friendly. The House Hardt has become one of my favourite destinations in the Bergisches Land. A thick praise to the operators!"
