"This bakery/food counter was a smashing hit when it first opened 5 or 6 years ago. Its bread and pastries were very good. In the last 2 or three years, with change of ownership, the bread is not as good as it used to be....It has six tables where you can have breakfast/lunch from a fairly wide selection of sandwiches, panini, quiches. Their expresso based coffees are average. The service is hit and miss, it can be slow when busy. My favorite product of theirs is a pastry called 'poirier '. It is a croissant with a centre filling of sliced pear fruit. Delicious. The croissant portion used to be flakier but it is still good. Their croissant and chocolatine are good but you will enjoy them even more if you buy them frozen and bake them at home. Their business has decreased after a fine for lack of hygiene. This is not at all the impression I get from the business which seems to be cleans a whistle. Could be a technicality. I prefer the bread from the Goutillon next door. You will enjoy their products when you go. It is simply unfortunate that they have not managed to perpetuate the high standards of their opening days."

"Competing against the long-established 'L 'amour du pain ' bakery and the nearby 'Provigo le marché ', this recent French bakery offers excellent flaky, light, crunchy plain croissants for 1,00 each. When we visited, there were also raspberry and strawberry croissants which were also very good but...did not contain fruit inside; it is the dough that is flavoured and coloured by the fruit. Very pretty. Sandwiches, pastries, tea coffee can be enjoyed on-site; there is room for 12 patrons at square wooden tables and hard straight chairs or at bar stools by the window. There isn 't much atmosphere, the ceiling is quite high, one of the walls is black, the other red. Visual interest is provided by the huge glass panel that offers a complete view of the bakery; ovens, work stations, tools and the bakers hard at work. There was also a dusting of flour on the floor on the shop side. I wondered if it was a gimmick to go with their name; Les enfarinés, which means Those covered in flour..."

"It's been a long time since we've gone to Giorgio's ... and they have up scaled their standards to some extent. Unlike the older days, Giorgio's is now a BYOB which is a plus as this will help curb the bill significantly. For $10, you can...upscale any dish on the menu to a table d'hote adding an entree (antipasto), a selected dessert (dolce) and a cappuccino to your meal (we all opted for that). For starters, I ordered the Ceasar salad my family ordered the Escargots à la Giorgio Fried calamari all were very good. For mains, both my wife daughter ordered the Cannelloni I ordered the Spaghettini with 2 giant veal meatballs. Again, a very good satisfying meal. This was a satisfying restaurant, serving good comfort food that doesn't tilt the budget"
