"Absolutely fantastic experience and my favourite restaurant in Franschhoek. The food delights with the creativity and flavours. Tables are well spaced or at the bar looking over the kitchen. With the kitchen in the centre of it all they have still got the acoustics just right. Very good value including the wine flight."

"Very unaccommodating. If they can show me camera footage that the whole time I was there people sat in the seats I wanted then I would be like fine. The entire time I was there no one sat in the window seats (4 sections) we wanted. You tell me you don’t know the times people booked for? Like we booked for 6pm. From 6pm to 7pm when we left nobody sat in those sections Furthermore, I refuse to believe that those people asked for window seats when they booked because equally you never asked us where we want to seat when we booked."

"The quality of the food is average, the restaurant tries to put on a show for each dish to the detriment of flavour. The utmost ridiculous “show” is the fish cooked in oil on your table. Absolutely uninteresting and brings an unpleasant oily fast-food smell in the dining room. By the way this dish could be good if the fish had just been cooked in a pan. Finally the wine pairing is very expensive for bad or average wines."

"After hearing the head chef trained at le gavroche, we knew we had to visit. We had just recently met Marco Pierre White, who too trained there.<br/>The food was incredible! Many of the other 'top ' establishments around Cape Town cost much more than Orangerie. However, I would have happily paid double for the food we ate! My partner had the sugar cured franschoek salmon , it was incredible, light, refreshing and a great contender to my calamari. <br/>For mains, we decided my mushroom tortellini was probably the best thing we have ever eaten. My partner would choose meat over any other dish and we could not get enough of the mushroom sauce. After spying the dessert at our neighboring table we knew we couldn 't skip out on that course. The dessert was incredible but unfortunately I was way too full to comment fairly."
