"When Genovese friends took us to this Gelateria, I was prepared to find it nice but overrated--one of those places that the locals are proud of but can be found almost anywhere. WRONG! The crowds line up here--twenty or more on a hot summer evening, you may be waiting for a while--because the gelato is superb. All made in house, organic, etc., but for me the taste is paramount. And Amedeo's gelato is ALIVE! Pistachio that tastes like the nuts were just shelled, bursting with flavor. Vanilla, hazelnut, dark chocolate, strawberry or lemon sorbet--you name it, each tastes so intense that you cannot imagine. Maybe the 20 minute wait adds to anticipation, but honestly, this is some great gelato. I've had it at the best places around Italy, from Napoli to Bologna, and Amedeo is right up there. HIGHLY recommended."
